Exciting news from Tunisia, where an LGBTIQ group has won a court battle in able to continue operating to advocate for decriminalizing homosexuality. Earlier this year the group was ordered to suspend activities for 30 days.

LGBTIQ rights are under threat in Indonesia, where even the Defense Minister has called gay acceptance a proxy war worse than nuclear attack. The latest is that state psychologists are calling LGBT a mental disorder but also censorship of LGBTIQ speech has been enforced.

If you're not down under enjoying gay Mardi Gras in Sydney - or still recovering from Brazil's Carnival - you should be at Pride in Capetown, South Africa this weekend. They have enjoyed marriage equality for a decade (the first nation in the Southem Hemisphere).

World News

Chinese government censors removed a popular romcom called "Addiction" about the relationship between 2 high school guys. Other similar shows have faced cancellation - but can be accessed via You Tube (if you have the technology to bypass the Great Firewall).

While Russia voted down a proposal to punish those who publicly come out, the Russian Ministry of Health put forward plans to create dedicated "exam rooms" for people with "non-traditional sexual orientation."

After the apparent re-election of President Museveni in Uganda, LGBTIQ groups fear suppression; Museveni stated he would "rehabilitate" gay people and plans exist to ban LGBT groups.

Major LGBTIQ organizations are banning together to call on the Federal Trade Commission to ban so-called "conversion therapy" in the US.
