Church of the Cross, BlufftonJoin us for the 225th Diocesan Convention, March 11-12; Worship Live-Streamed

Even if you're not a diocesan delegate you're welcome to join us for many of the Convention events at Church of the Cross in Bluffton. We will be live-streaming the worship service Friday evening. The preacher will be the Rt. Rev. Thad Barnum, Bishop in Residence at All Saints, Pawleys Island, SC, and Chaplain to Clergy with Call2disciple.  Learn more about the convention.

The deadline for submitting articles for the spring issue of the Jubilate Deo is Friday, March 4. We’re especially interested in hearing how churches engage the community and culture outside their building’s walls.  Does your church have a unique ministry? Keep all of the men attending our upcoming Christian Men's Conference, February 26-28, in your prayers. This year's conference will include teachings by Shay Gaillard; teaching, a testimony and workshop on radical mentoring from Regi Campbell; worship and a workshop from Todd Fields.

The clergy of the Diocese of South Carolina will renew their ordination vows at this 11 a.m. service at the Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul, Charleston. Clergy are to wear white stoles. The service is open to the public. 




Epic PosterYouth Event: Epic, March 18-20

Dave Little from St John’s, Vancouver, will be the guest speaker at the Epic weekend, March 18-20. The weekend features small group Bible studies led by youth commission and some contemplative reflection time for students.  Both of these have been highlights of the weekend in the past. Epic is the most intimate of our events, intentionally smaller for greater personal interaction and impact. Learn more.

On Saturday, April 30, the Diocesan Women's Ministries is hosting a one-day retreat with Allison Lawrence (wife of our Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Mark Lawrence) and her daughter Chelsea Hamshaw (wife of the Rev. Jason Hamshaw). The gathering will be held at Holy Trinity, Windermere on Folly Road in Charleston. Additional information will be available soon.

Pianist, Sandra ShenNew: Piano Concert with Sandra Wright Shen, February 28
On Sunday, February 28 at 4 p.m. the Cathedral will welcome internationally acclaimed concert pianist Sandra Wright Shen. In this concert, Sandra will share the life stories and the spiritual journeys of the great classical composers, while playing their compositions. Sandra has been touching audiences worldwide through her "Inspiration From Above" series of concerts, having performed over 150 concerts in seven countries to over 30,000 people, and broadcasted on TV in the US and internationally. Coffee Shop & Open MicNew: Coffee Shop and Open Mic, March 4
Holy Trinity, Windermere, is hosting a Coffee Shop/Open mic , Friday evening, March 4 from 6 - 8:30 p.m. with a game room for the kids!  Start your date night out right with some of the finest local musicians in Charleston!   Coffee, tea, soda and sweets all will be available and priced to sell!


Tree Church 5KChrist Church Tree Church 5k, March 5
Christ Church, Mt. Pleasant, is holding its 3rd Annual Tree Church Project 5K Run / Walk at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Charleston County’s new Laurel Hill Park in Mount Pleasant. Registration is $25 and $15 for accompanying children; sponsorship levels begin at $300.  All proceeds from the 5K are used to build church buildings in the Diocese of Marsabit in the Anglican Church of Kenya. Women: You’re invited to the 2016 God is Real Women's Conference, April 8-9th at the Charleston Music Hall.  Join with 900+ women for inspiring worship, anointed teaching and empowering prayer ministry and mentoring. The conference is hosted and founded by speaker and author Joanne Ellison of St. Andrews, Mt. Pleasant.  This conference will unify women of all ages, stages, and denominations.
