Dual Credit Courses
Mrs. Sauer assisted many of the juniors and seniors as they register for dual credit classes at Colorado Christian University. Junior and Senior students currently enrolled in Rhetoric/Senior Thesis, British Literature, and American Literature can receive 3 hours of CCU college credit for each course completed with a grade of 'C' or better. Two more courses are slated for approval for next year bringing the total potential dual credits per Heritage grad to 15, the equivalent of one semester of college credit.

MPAC Parking
Every change brings about new challenges. While MPAC is a tremendous blessing to the school, it has created a few challenges parking-wise. The small lot next to MPAC has become somewhat of mixing bowl during certain times of the day. In an attempt to ease that congestion and create a safer campus environment for all of our students, effective immediately, all MPAC events parking in the small lot next to MPAC will be limited to grandparents and visitors only. We ask that ALL families and students use the main parking area north of Herzog Hall for these events.
Also, please do not use the MPAC parking lot at morning/afternoon drop-off or pick-up. Please use the lane to the north of Herzog Hall during these times for logic and rhetoric students. Not only is traffic tight and congested, we also have pedestrian traffic with students are walking from the practice field after their athletics period. We appreciate your willingness to follow these guidelines as we promote safety at Heritage School. Students should always park in the student parking area.
If you need to come into the school, please park your car in the main parking area.

Heritage Business Association
Members of the Heritage Business Association ( HBA) are looking forward to its second meeting on Monday, February 29 at 1:47 p.m. David Redding of Frost Bank Wealth Management Group has graciously agreed to be our facilitator and is driving in from Austin for the occasion.
Blake Ashley, founder of the HBA is extending an invitation to Heritage families and community to attend HBA meetings. Please RSVP to blake.ashley.jr@gmail.com to reserve a seat. The members of the HBA thank you for your support of our organization and our mission to provide Heritage students with business knowledge for years to come.

Surprise! It's Spring Fling!
Mark your calendars: Spring Fling is Friday, May 13th. That's right, you read that right!

Grammar School Village
Kindergartners--enjoyed mapping the location their surprise mail arrived from. We had mail from many Texas cities, several different states and even a couple countries.
1st Graders--learned about Abe Lincoln and George Washington, studied force and motion and enjoyed a Van Gogh picture study.
2nd Graders--are learning how the Hebrew nation began.
3rd Graders--worked very hard on their Speech Meet pieces and eared very good scores.
4th Grader--spent time learning about tessellations and creating our own mathematically artistic versions of them.
5th Graders--enjoyed three science experiments called Oreo Moon Phases, Mystery Balloon, and Atmospheric Egg.

Your Child's Safety is Important!
Heritage School has the safety of our students in mind as we post new signs on the playground. We welcome student activity at Heritage School. However, we ask that if your student would like to play on the playground after school hours, a parent or guardian must directly supervise their play. Thank you for your cooperation!

Please note that Heritage School (Herzog Hall) closes daily at 4:00 p.m. All students must be picked up by 4:00 p.m. unless they are participating in an athletic practice. Thank you.

ATTENTION PARENTS: PLEASE do not park in either of the circle drives in front of the school. These are fire lanes as well as drive through lanes and you are hindering the flow of traffic if you park your car there. Please use the provided parking spaces if you need to park and come into the school.

Tutor Program:
Student Council is happy to announce that tutoring is now available for Upper School Students! The tutoring program offers a unique opportunity for middle-schoolers to succeed academically with one-on-one help from an experienced Rhetoric school student, and helps strengthen the bond between the members of our Heritage Family. There are currently 12 tutor-tutee pairs, and sessions usually occur during study halls after lunch (Other times can be arranged depending on the volunteer’s schedule). Special thanks to all the students who have volunteered to make this possible! Early College Credit Registration Open for Spring
Central Texas College has opened its registration portal for Summer Classes. You should start the online application process at: http://www.ctcd.edu/students/prospective-students/how-to-enroll/texas-students/ Complete the one-time online application to CTC, track down your SAT scores and make an appointment with Kristy Kothe at the Hill Country University Center (254-616-3401) You must be a junior or senior to register and are limited to two courses per semester.
More independent souls may find the ONLINE early college offerings at LeTourneau University more suitable: http://www.letu.edu/_Admissions/dualcredit/ Although LETU online students do not have designated online class times, they do have weekly deadlines for graded work. LETU courses cost about $360 each.
Early college credit not only saves thousands of tuition dollars ($328/course at CTC compared to $950 at A&M and $3636 at Baylor), the gift of time and flexibility in your future college schedule can be more advantageous in pursuing a minor or double major. Also, the seniority attained by early college credit can make a huge difference at freshman registration. Of course, early college credits afford little advantage at all if your chosen major degree plan does not call for those courses or your target college does not accept the transfer. Mrs. Sauer can help you find that information and help you make a plan.
