CENE Awards Submission Day is only 4 days away!

This week we have been busy finalising the judging of the G4C North East 2016 Awards ready for the ceremony on April 1st. I have to say a huge thank you to all the judges as I know from reading all the submissions what an extremely hard decision many of you have had to make as all those shortlisted are truly exceptional in their own right. We are now looking forward to the announcements being made in 5 weeks time at the Hilton NewcastleGateshead at what should be a wonderful night for all attending and not just our well-deserved winners. If you have not already booked your place for the awards dinner then please contact Leanne.

Yesterday we held the ‘Payment terms, purpose and effect of certificates and notices’ briefing with Roddy Gordon, Partner in Construction and Engineering at DAC Beachcroft. We would like to thank Roddy and his team for an excellent presentation and their hospitality. The next seminar with DAC Beachcroft is next Thursday morning and is being held at Wynyard, details of this are below.

Yesterday afternoon Leanne and I were at the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park hotel taste testing our menu for the CENE Awards dinner in June and I have to say it is absolutely amazing!

Next week is very busy for both of us, on Monday evening we are supporting the National Association of Women in Construction North East’s 4th Anniversary event. If you are free it would be great for you to come along to this and hear about what they have coming up and of course this and their other events are not just open for women.

On Wednesday we are exhibiting at County Durham and Darlington Fire & Rescue services Open Day at their new training facility in Bowburn, details of this event are below and we would love to see you there. As previously mentioned, on Thursday we are at Wynyard for the DAC Beachcroft ‘Construction Legal update’. And to complete our busy week on Friday it is First Friday Club in association with Watson Burton, then Leanne and I are off to Leeds to attend the G4C Yorkshire & Humber Awards.

We currently have vacancies for CENE Board Member and Club Committee Members, if you are interested in either of these positions please contact me for an application form. We are also looking to recruit an apprentice in business administration / events management and if you know anyone who would be interested please let us know.

Please remember our deadline for applications for the CENE 2016 Awards is on Monday at 5.00pm so please send your entries either by recorded delivery or hand delivered to Leanne at our office at Rainton Bridge. I have to say after all the conversations we have had and the brilliant nominations we received for the G4C Awards we are getting very excited to receiving all your submissions!

Best wishes

Catriona
