Please join us at our March 5 breakfast! Holly Jones, candidate for Lt. Governor, and perhaps 1 or 2 other different candidates will speak between 9 and 10 am. Tom Hill, candidate for U.S. House District 11, will speak at 11:15 am on the subject of redistricting, gerrymandering, and recent developments that affect the primary for Congressional candidates.

|
|
Please note that the U.S. House District 11 primary will not be held on March 15. It has been postponed to June 7 because NC Congressional districts have to be redrawn. Also please note that the Henderson County Board of Elections links below only show the March 15 primary.

NEWS FLASH!
We have just learned that Paul and Sylvia Donahue will be moving to Florida in April. So they will be our GUESTS OF HONOR at the March 19th party complete with his story telling and a "bit 'o' blarney." We all will have a chance to "toast" them for their wonderful contributions to our party in Henderson County. Mark your calendar now, and write up a farewell thank you card to put into a Leprechaun Basket of Memories!

TO VOTE OR NOT TO VOTE – HOW IS THAT EVEN A QUESTION?
By Nancy Glowacki
The Democratic Party understands only too well that in 2016 our Democratic Progressive Voter Turnout MUST BE THE HIGHEST IT’S EVER BEEN in order to rebalance and redirect our nation’s course! Simple as that.
“IF EVERYONE VOTED, THEN IT WOULD COMPLETELY CHANGE
THE POLITICAL MAP IN THIS COUNTRY” President Obama, March 18, 2015
- Yes, every VOTE counts. We get what we collectively VOTE for or don’t VOTE for.
- Yes, VOTE your party in the Primary!
- Yes, VOTE in the November General Election and take friends with you! Ask for help if you need it. Call our office at 828-692-6424.
While stats may not change minds or motivate, this information just might initiate some critical thinking:
- Only 38% of eligible US voters actually vote (other proud world democracies surpass us by far)
- Therefore, slightly more than half of that percentage actually elect the President. (19-20%)
- OUR VOTES DO MATTER!
VOTE YOUR DEMOCRATIC MORAL VALUES, which include concern for the common good, and empathy, protection, and empowerment for everyone equally.
VOTE FOR SEATS IN CONGRESS, NC STATE, AND LOCALLY; learn, think and vote for progressive change.
BELIEVE MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., WHO SAID
“VOTING IS THE FOUNDATION STONE FOR POLITICAL ACTION.”
