‘Let us live in awe of the LORD our God, for he gives us rain each spring and fall, assuring us of a harvest when the time is right.’ â€“ Jeremiah 5:24

2015: A “Glorious” Year

While slowly sipping some coffee, Jason and I sat on our couch one Saturday morning in January and reflected on words to describe our 2015 year.  At first, I thought a plain and simple: “hard” would sum it up pretty well.  Other words we thought of were: persevering, confusing, and challenging.

Then Jason said, “Really, if you think about it, the past year was about glory.  Not our glory.  But God’s.”

We did persevere through Jason’s specialist classes and our 2nd year of marriage.
We were confused over and over again by our infertility.
We were challenged by changes at our jobs.

Yet, we look back and see that the Lord was in the midst of it all and His glory was seen in what He did.  God gave us strength to persevere; He comforted us in our confusion; He gave us wisdom in the challenges.

I was reminded of these truths one day as Jason and I built this fence to hide our trash cans.  After laboring for many hours, we finished the project.

Jason shook the fence and it wobbled a little.  He said, “It’s good, but I don’t know if it’ll hold up in a hurricane.”
Unlike the shakable fence, our foundation in the Lord is secure, giving us strength to withstand any storms that come our way.

Primary Prayer Request for 2016: Pray that we will continue to rest and wait for the Lord’s timing for us to have a baby!
God’s Glory displayed through Wycliffe Volunteers & Interns
In 2015, I was privileged to help train and send volunteers & interns ages 17 to 56 to the following locations: Ghana, Papua New Guinea, two locations in South Asia, Ethiopia, Thailand, Indonesia, Uganda, and Cambodia.

Volunteers & Interns helped meet critical needs among our translation teams:
· Rachel created a digital app for villagers to access scripture in their own language
· Emilee tutored missionary kids so their parents could do work on the Bible translation
· Edwina and James helped edit a dictionary for a cluster of 6 translation projects
· Blaise helped digitize a library so that national Bible translators in remote areas can have access to commentaries and exegetical resources as they translate God's Word!
Others helped with ESL, medical and IT work.

It is an honor to be a part of God’s Work through sending volunteers who help Bible translators bring God’s Word to those who have never heard it!
I truly love my job!
God’s Glory displayed through YOU!
Jason and I visited Rob and Dawn and Columbus West Church, Ohio in Oct. Liz from our S. Asia trip joined us and we shared about God’s Work in S. Asia. (pictured left)
It was a blessing to have Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Nina Watts attend a Scripture Celebration at Wycliffe Headquarters last year! (pictured right)
Financial Status Update:
Due to increased costs (health insurance, medical), combined with one financial contributor passing on to glory, I need to raise approximately $400 per month.

By the Lord’s provision and your faithful generosity I trust that the Lord will continue to provide.   If you feel that the Lord might lead you to increase your giving, or if you would like to become a financial partner, do let me know.

You can also give via info below.

I look forward to partnering with you in the work God has called me to of sending volunteers and interns to critical needs in Bible Translation projects all around the world!
