Our development team has grown! Billy McGuiness has transitioned from Development Manager to Director of Development. Kris Casey has returned to SkyART as the Development Manager. Visiting Artists from the United Arab Emirates!
On March 24th, in connection with the exhibition Past Forward: Contemporary Art From the Emirates on exhibit now at the State Street Gallery at Robert Morris University, SkyART students were led in a collage workshop by Emirati artists Hamdan Al Shamsi, Alia Lootah and Dana Al Marashi. Joining the artists were Head of Heritage and Social Affairs at the UAE Embassy and Exhibition Co-Curator Noor Al Suwaidi and UAE Embassy Congressional Affairs Officer Fatima Al Mazmi.
February Open House
February 19th was the first of our monthly Open Houses and it was a blast. Teaching Artists and SkyART's Young Adult Art Advocates hosted art workshops with community members of all ages. We had a DJ and karaoke too. Open Houses will be held every third Friday of the month. Stop by for the next one on March 18 at 5PM!
