Why Some Growers Face Higher Energy Costs As New States Legalize
February 21, 2016

Alaska has the highest electricity rates among the markets where adult use of marijuana is currently legal and the seven states most likely to fully legalize in 2016. The higher rates in California and the states in the Northeast will make the cost of electricity a significantly more impactful operational expense, especially for large-scale commercial indoor grows, than in Western states where energy rates are approximately 35% lower.

New Frontier Attending MIS in San Francisco &
Heads Up International Cannabis Standards Board
March 3-5, 2016, San Francisco Hilton Union Square
Saturday, March 5, New Frontier will be moderating the panel, The New Frontier of Banking in the Cannabis Industry, a discussion with financial institutions on a path forward to regulation. Arguably, the greatest risk to the cannabis industry is not the legalization of marijuana, but the billions of dollars of undeposited cash floating around our economy.

After the panel discussion, invited guests will have an opportunity to be part of a closed door session discussing the launch of the new International Cannabis Standards Board (ICSB).

Also on Saturday, meet the New Frontier team and former NFL Pro-Bowler Kevin Gogan who will be signing autographs at our booth, 703. Gogan is a Tier 3 grower in Washington and an advocate for greater research into medical cannabis for the treatment of CTE.
