The Silent Stream... whispers again

6th March, Hove

Hello everyone.
Here's news of our upcoming events...
In November 2015 we held the showcase of the "Create your One Person Show" course at Angel House, in Brighton. The showcase was very successful, and this sumptuously restored Regency House was talking to me, just asking to have a play about The Prince Regent played right there.
Well, as it happens, in 2013 "The Silent Stream", my one man show about... The Prince Regent, his relationship to Brighton, to the land, and the building of his Pavilion, won awards when it hit the stage. Now, thanks to the whispers from the inviting angels of Angel House, it's going to hit the stage again. On Sunday 6th March. Soon!! Tickets are already on sale and already half gone, so Book Tickets HERE. I don't foresee many left to buy on the door.

A Good Jew...
a very good start.

Starts 29th April

Rehearsals are well underway for our latest full production of my new play, "A Good Jew". Set during The Holocaust, and following two Frankfurt families, one Jewish, one Aryan, on their journey to  Terezín concentration camp,... where their allegiances are seemingly reversed.
You can find out more about the play's writing and other back stage news at my new blog

You'll also find our nascent website dedicated to A Good Jew with historical backgrounds, film clips, music of the times, snippets of the play, character profiles, cast biogs and more. Bear with us, as the site is still quite bare, but being added to over the next months.

We have a wonderful dedicated cast, (Simon Hellyer, David Stephens, Chrissie White, Luci Flo, Isabella McCarthy Sommerville, Daniel Grimston, Patrick Carmody and myself) and we begin our small tour of around 20 dates at the end of April, going through to the start of July, visiting Brighton Fringe (back at Exeter Street Hall for our 2nd year there), Arundel Vic Inst, Lewes All Saints, London JW3, London Tara Arts, Bristol Alma, Falmouth Poly and Bournemouth's Shelley Theatre. We'll be mailing you again soon as ticketing links get added.

Learning:

Lastly... I'm expecting to be teaching my classes once more at Evolution Arts in Brighton from April 23rd. Watch this space for more info.

I had some feedback recently from Hana Fazal who now writes all my press (I wish!)

“I’d been looking around for some time for a course that would help to release my very pent-up creativity – and I wanted it to be hugely fun, playful, confidence-building, friendly and just the right amount of challenging all at the same time . . . Well, I found it all in perfect measures in Jonathan’s  classes.

“Jonathan is an exceptionally capable teacher. He has a rare gift for really seeing a person, listening intently to what they have to say, telling them that one thing they really need to hear so they can understand their inhibitions and really dig deep to release their creativity.

“I’d never tried acting before and actually it never really felt like that’s what I was doing. It felt more like I was opening a tap and learning to control the flow of creativity coming out.” Hana Fazal, 2016

Thanks Hana!

Lastly lastly.... Really fabulous news also that Sarah Charsley and Clare Rebekah Pointing, who both attended and  developed shows within the "Create Your Own One Person Show" Course last October, will be premiering their new one woman shows (Ghost Sex and Delphine, respectively), ... in the Brighton Fringe in May.

Sarah has also asked me to help direct her piece, which is very exciting!

Best of leg breaking to them both.

Ok. I'm done. See you March 6th or in May / June for A Good Jew if not before.

Enjoy the Spring!
