BUILD SEASON ENDS

The AdamBots have had a very productive month as we finished up the last weeks of the 2016 FIRST build season. The last four build weeks were spent on completing the master CAD model of our robot, fabricating parts, testing code, and assembling our competition robot. Additionally, on February 13th, we invited sponsors, parents, and prospective students to learn more about our team at the Meet the AdamBots and Cyber Cats Event. February 23rd was Bag and Tag Day, when we put our competition robot in the bag at midnight. During March, we are excited to be competing at two local district competitions and one Ohio regional event!

SEASON UPDATE

During the last three build weeks, the AdamBots engineering and business teams have been busy finishing the robot and competing submissions for this season. The CAD team completed the master model of the robot and the Field team finished building the game pieces and tower for this game's field. The Mechanical teams worked on fabricating, assembling, wiring, and programming the practice robot and the competition robot. Additionally, the AdamBots selected students for our drive team.

On the business side of the team, the Chairman's team submitted the 2016 Chairman's questions and the Business Plan team completed and submitted the 2015-2016 Business Plan. The Marketing team organized and held the annual Meet the AdamBots and CyberCats Event, which was a great success.

In the coming weeks, the AdamBots are excited to be attending three competitions! Our first competition is the Waterford District Competition on March 4th and 5th in Waterford, Michigan. We will also be competing at the Center Line District Competition and the Queen City Regional Competition later this month.

For more information about the AdamBots, check out our team blog to read updates from each of the build weeks, and view the video summaries on our YouTube channel. As our team competes this month, we will also be posting scores, competition summaries, and photos on all our social media feeds, which are linked along the left side of this newsletter. Also, our sister team from Stoney Creek High School, the Cyber Cats, recently launched their website.

As our build season has come to an end, the AdamBots would like to extend a huge thank you to our mentors for helping out during the build weeks. Additionally, thanks to Mrs. Markel and Mrs. Anthony for feeding our entire castle each Saturday. We are extremely excited to continue working with our mentors throughout the upcoming competition season!

MEET OUR TEAMS!

On February 13th, the AdamBots, a FIRST robotics team from Rochester Adams High School, invited sponsors, parents, and prospective students to visit our build space. The AdamBots also invited the Cyber Cats, the FIRST robotics team from Stoney Creek High School, to participate in this event with us.The event was organized to give visitors a glimpse into the work that goes into building our robot and running our team. The 2016 Meet the AdamBots and Cyber Cats Event was very successful, with approximately 70 people in attendance. Guests saw a robot demonstration of Issac, our 2015 OCCRA robot. After a guided tour of our work areas, team members exhibited a presentation about our overall AdamBots team. The tours and presentation were very effective in giving sponsors, parents, and prospective students a quick overview of our team, and we hope to continue this event next year!
