The 4R Depot is open!
At long last, Winnipeg's first one-stop shop for all things recyclable (and reusable) is open. Still a bit of a hike to the Brady landfill but cool nonetheless. Word has it a second depot will open on Pacific Ave later this year.

Civic responsibility: for 27 cents per day
We get that some backyard composters bristle at the thought of paying for curbside organic pickup. But the sad fact is that only 23% of Winnipeggers compost their kitchen waste. Could 27 cents per day improve that rate?
See ya later, Jack Frost!
From the Frozen Chosen Sporting Lederhosen to the Big Test Icicles, a total of 87 teams and 327 participants took part in The Jack Frost Challenge 2016. Take a leisurely skate through the crazy team names and kudos.

Partying for Compost Winnipeg at Alpine Chill

Over $10,000 was raised at the 4th Annual Snowball thanks to organizer extraordinaire Amber van den Broek, along with many volunteers, performers and generous partiers. The monies will go towards a cargo trailer and electric bike for Compost Winnipeg, our social enterprise. Kudos to everyone on such an amazing, fun event! (Photo credit: Pepper Apple Photography)

Speak up on pesticides and microbeads

Are microbeads rubbing you the wrong way? If that doesn't get you in a lather, check out the 'temporary' pesticide regulations.
