Hi Moms and Dads

This newsletter is a very important form of communication. If you do not receive one via email, please let Jane have your email so that we can send you one and if you would prefer a hard copy in your child’s pocket, please let Jane know so that we can do this for you!
We hope that you all had a super weekend.
The small wall around the jungle gym will now be completed during the March holidays, so as not to interfere too much with the smooth running of our school day.
Please could all the parents who have not completed the form regarding photos on Facebook, do so as soon as possible. We would like to share some special moments that happen at school with you, but need the consent forms to be returned in order for us to do this. No names are added to the photos and we ensure that only children whose parents have given consent appear in the photos.
The Starfish class have a small soft toy penguin, Peter, that they use each day for their ‘train leader,’ and it has simply disappeared!! We are all very sad about this and urge you all to please keep an eye out for him. He may have gone home in someone’s bag, or may be lost somewhere around the school. Please return Peter the Penguin if you find him, as the Starfish Class and Mrs Van Eyk are missing him terribly!

AGM AND CLASS DISCUSSIONS

Our AGM and Class Discussions, this Tuesday 23rd Feb, 6.30pm for 7pm. Please join us for this very important meeting.
Tea, coffee and a biscuit will be available at the start of the evening.
It is a most important meeting as you will hear from your child’s teacher the aims and objectives for the year, the wonderful things they do in their classroom, how they organise and run their day, the important elements of their age group and even some parenting tips!
As mentioned in last week’s newsletter we are looking to fill two positions on our Board. Treasurer and Fundraiser.
Thank you, I have had some interest in the Treasurer portfolio.
Please let me have a short resume of your credentials if you are interested to fill either of these positions so that we can have it available for the AGM.
The minutes of last year’s AGM are up on the notice board of the school for your perusal.
For your information, The Board meets once a month and their main role is to manage the finances of the school, coordinate fundraising activities and ensure all procedures are adhered to as per the school constitution. The Board consists of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and Fundraiser. We also have a maintenance portfolio. I sit on the Board as the Principal. We have a teacher representative and Jane sits on the Board as school secretary.

SPARE CLOTHES
Please remember to pack in some spare clothes for your child each day, particularly the younger ones. The children often need to change for various reasons and it becomes a little tricky when there is nothing for them to wear!!!
FACEBOOK
We love sharing pictures from the school day. Teachers only put photos up on Facebook once a week. Any parent who does not want their child’s photos to appear on Facebook should let their teacher know. www.facebook.com/fhpps.

And on that note...

Have a super week everyone. Please don't hesitate to chat to me or the teachers if you have any questions or concerns.

“Listen earnestly to anything your child wants to tell you no matter what. If you don’t listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won’t tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff!’
