Important Information for Petersburg Taxpayers
The City of Petersburg's Special Events Committee met this week to begin refining plans for one of the biggest tourism weekends this spring.   Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 will be packed full of activities for the region. "Pick Petersburg" (as it is being called) is a phenomenal weekend of things to do including the historic Petersburg half marathon & 5K, the 235th Anniversary of the Battle of Petersburg (A Revolutionary War Reenactment) and Petersburg's Chamber of Commerce, "Smokin Bar BQ Festival". Save the date and stay tuned for further information.
Mayor W Howard Myers was the guest speaker at Walnut Hill Elementary School this week for their 2nd grade Black History Month program.
Mayor W Howard Myers and Petersburg resident, Mr. Richard Stewart were guest speakers at the Ft. Lee Black History Month program last week. They were both presented with beautiful Black History Month plaques.
Petersburg Business License Notice - March 1st deadline
City of Petersburg business license renewal applications were mailed out to all business owners in December 2015. The deadline for renewing your business license is March 1, 2016. After March 1, 2016 there will be a late penalty of 10% added to your business license tax. 
 
The business license application is available on the city website under the Commissioner of Revenue link and to the left under forms. Please contact the Commissioner of Revenue office @ 804-733-2315 or

Joint Ward 3 Meeting - February 29th

Vice Mayor Sam Parham and School Board Chair Ken Pritchett will host a joint Ward 3 meeting on Monday, February 29 at Dogwood Trace Golfcourse club house at 6 p.m. Guest speakers will include Lt. Moore about Petersburg's crime tracking system and Dr. Linda Shifflette, Interim Superintendent.

This class is FREE to the public, no registration is required.
Participants should bring their own mat or a cushion if they prefer to lie down during meditation.
Classes begin on time; no one will be admitted into classroom once meditation has started.
