The Mental Carousel

We are being asked to seek clarity for the areas in our life where confusion, indecision or even fear reigns.

“Easier said than done”…right?

It is the confusion and indecision that has mired us down. It can be an anchor, preventing us from moving forward.

This is happening now in personal and/or work relationships.

Round and Round

I’m sure you’ve experienced it. The mental carousel. Round and round.

Do I stay or do I go?
What haven’t I tried to make it better?
What will people say if I quit / go?
Am I happy inside?

Going to Work – Seeing the Person
  • Do you get excited and/or happy to see that person or go to that job?
  • Is it draining, scary, nerve-wracking to be there or be around him/her?
  • Does your heart speed up? In fear or dread? Or in excitement?
  • Do you feel like you have to walk on eggshells around that person?
  • Do you want to make that person feel good about themselves?
  • Does that person try to make you feel good about yourself?
  • Have you done everything possible to make this right and/or make it work?
  • Has the other person done anything towards making it right?
Victim Roles

If you are still playing the role of victim (perpetuating the illusion that you are always being victimized), you can stop reading now. You’ll need to release that before progressing.

Trash or Treasure

To me, treasure relationships are ones that you feel good being in.

Both sides want the other to thrive and/or succeed.

There is a balance of give and take from both sides.

There is respect and/or love from both sides.

There is contentment; a peaceful feeling; or even love connected to the relationship – from both sides.

It feels healthy and mutual.

Trash, on the other hand, is self-serving.

Undermining, snideness, disrespect, and heaviness are some key words.

A one-sided relationship where fear or uneasiness can be present. The other party may work on decreasing or smothering your self-worth or self-esteem.

If you are the one working to make the relationship “work” or healthy, and you are doing it alone – well, this maybe the warning sign of a trash relationship.

I’m pretty sure you don’t take your household trash and lug it around with you everywhere you go…right?

That wouldn’t be healthy – and am sure it wouldn’t take long to stink.

So why would you lug around an unhealthy relationship?

I recommend getting off of that dizzying carousel and get involved with a healthy, balanced relationship. (Please be responsible with any changes.)

“But what will my co-workers/family/friends say about me?”

Hopefully they will be supportive of your decision.

But, in the end, it is you who has to make a decision and possible change. You are responsible for your life and energy (and of those in your care – such as those who aren’t old enough to care for themselves), and your co-workers and friends are responsible for theirs.

Isn’t it time to take the trash out?

Ask your team for clarity, focus and/or insight.

It’s time to get off the mental carousel.

The Third Life of Bell-Bottoms

One of the themes going through our lives is revisiting the past.

The past can come around in different forms, including: memories or flashbacks; someone from your past popping back into your life; and trends, to name a few.

And what about remakes? Music, movies, etc.

There are also more negative and larger scale forms like war, genocide and holocausts.

Respect

Years ago, I was driving my youngest to her horse lessons. The drive took thirty minutes. We had an agreement to split radio time since our tastes were so different.

Her music consisted of a lot of yelling and/or aggressive music.

Mine? Classic rock, of course.

On one trip – with her radio time – a song came on that I began to sing along with.

My daughter turned the music down and asked, with disbelief, “How do YOU know this song?”

I explained that I grew up with this song. This version had more aggressive music, but the words remained the same. “R-E-S-P-E-C-T”,  Respect from Aretha Franklin. And then there were various artist remakes over the years.

The Third Life of Bell-Bottoms in My Life Time

I wasn’t too fond of bell-bottoms, nor elephant (or elephant ear) jeans when they came out in my pre-teen and teen years.

I didn’t care for them when they showed up again some twenty years or so later.

And they are making a comeback again.

I didn’t want them then, and refuse them now.

The Past Will Come Around Again

All of life has cycles – and it has cycles within cycles.

There are cycles within your own personal daily life. And there are cycles within your town, city, state, country.

The past will come around again – in whatever form – for each of us to make a choice. We have to decide things like:

- Do we want to partake?
- Do we want it to be part of our reality / in our life today?
- Are we going to tolerate it coming/happening again?
- Or, are we done with it?

What cycle is being brought to your attention, and what will you decide/choose?

Oh, and not making a decision means it will come back again.

I am, however, thankful that the 80’s hairstyles haven’t come back.

Energy Update - February 16, 2016

As we (each individual, at his/her own pace) continue our journey of healing, releasing and integrating (all aspects of soul self; now, past and future), we can go through some unique shifts/changes as well as the possibility of having some unusual experiences. (By the way – unusual is becoming the new “norm”. *grin*)

We’ve entered another pronounced energy upgrade/shift opportunity and many have felt or experienced this for about two weeks.

Remember, if you don’t experience this, that is okay! You’ll experience your way; your experience may be so subtle that you aren’t consciously aware it occurred; or it may not have been part of what you’ve chosen to experience. It’s all good.

Revisiting the Past

Yes, another wave of people, places and/or incidents from our past are showing themselves now.

You can be remembering and/or revisiting during dream time, meditation, or physically.

Once again, we are being given the opportunity to heal and release. We are also being given the chance to say “yes” or “no” to allowing that person, situation type, and/or energy back into our life again. Our choice.

Releasing Some Labels

Another wave coming through is the question, “Do you want to continue being ____?”

For example: I have recently been working with a friend to have them step into a role I have carried since I was a child. This does not mean I will cease to have the knowledge/ability. I am merely stepping aside and letting someone else step forward to accept that role/label.

Some may experience releasing some labels as drastically as re-inventing themselves; where others may experience it by letting go of one or two things/labels and move onto something new.

Physical Changes

Some are experiencing changes that are seen in their energy fields; some changes can be seen/felt/experienced physically.

Right now, I’ve been experiencing changes to my chakras. The frequency/vibration of each has been altered – as has their colors. I can’t wait to see how all of this will manifest in my life.

My team explained that our primary Earth chakras are being re-formatted to accommodate the vibrational changes occurring with in us; and that it is working towards the eventual change over to crystalline structure.

Yay!

Diet/Food Intake

As the body goes through its adjustments, your dietary intake, and possibly tolerances, may require adjustments as well.

Please listen to your body and make the necessary adjustments, safely and healthily.

Abilities

Our abilities may become more refined or pronounced.

Example: if you only “saw” (energetically) in your mind’s eye, you may “see” more clearly in your mind’s eye, and/or you may begin to physically see it.

Also, “new” (new to the Earth at this time or just new to you) abilities are surfacing.

Wandering Thoughts

Some may find their thoughts easily or effortlessly meandering – like wandering on its own.

Rein in the mind from playing out the “what if” scenarios and from needlessly untethering and floating off.

We are being asked to focus and to stay in the here and now.

Old Ways, Views and Beliefs

These may no longer be working for you. I recommend addressing any ways, views and beliefs that no longer fit you (or sing to your soul); take a closer look, and if needed, release it.

Most of us had been raised to follow the rules and laws…and many of those may not fit anymore. New energy is having us lean more towards Universal Laws.

Now, this doesn’t mean societal chaos should reign.

Every change we make should be out of love; a constructive change.

Your Team

After shielding (http://www.metaphysical-studies.com/blog/2014/03/20/shielding-technique/), you can ask your team (guides, guardian angels, etc.) to help guide you; help you through your adjustments and changes; and, if you are having any difficulty, ask your team to help you have a more gentle adjustment.

And slow deep breaths (and maybe slowly counting to ten) when you get frustrated with someone else.

Everyone is on their own journey – at their own pace.

Book Review – On Pluto: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer’s by Greg O’Brien

On Pluto: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer’s by Greg O’Brien. 2014, Codfish Press. ISBN 978-0-9913401-0-1.

The author and journalist, Greg O’Brien, offers the reader some in-depth snapshots of his mother’s decline – due to the progressive disease called Alzheimer’s. The same disease had also claimed his maternal grandfather.

O’Brien writes of the effects Alzheimer’s had on not only his mother, but on the family was well -- where fear, denial and anguish made repeated appearances.

He shares the stages: early, moderate and advanced – and what presents in each stage. He also provides some startling statistics.

“Pluto” is what Greg coins for the disconnect – like drifting or blank stares. The faraway place that people with Alzheimer’s disappear into with more frequency as their affliction takes more and more from them.

“On Pluto: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer’s” is a unique book. Not only does the author share some of his interactions with, and observations of, his mother’s experiences – he shares his own…with a rare and welcome raw honesty.

In 2009, at age 59, this investigative reporter, writer and publisher was diagnosed with Early onset Alzheimer’s.

Greg O’Brien weaves a tapestry, leaving the reader with a mental visual of his past, present and possible upcoming future; giving an insider view of the struggles, fear, rage, gratitude, grace and humor about his personal journey with Alzheimer’s. And sharing his story to let others know that they are not alone.

Favorite Passages:

“It is vital for those with Alzheimer’s to connect with the past, the long-term memories and relationships.” p. 137

“…our mother was slowly sliding off the face of the Earth, pulled into the metaphorical orbits of Pluto and Sedna.” p. 142

“I've begun labeling the toothpaste, liquid soap, and rubbing alcohol. I have attempted often to brush my teeth with liquid soap, and on two occasions gargled briefly with rubbing alcohol. Scope is far better!” p. 72

Personal Notes:

Though this is not my normal genre of book reviews, I was drawn to read this – and am very glad I did.

Alzheimer’s has touched so many people – directly or peripherally.

There is currently no cure.

This is a call of action to help support research to find a cure.

Recommendation:

This book is an introduction to understanding, caring for, living with, or having Alzheimer’s. I believe it would also be helpful to those with other forms of dementia, or those wishing to understand a bit more about dementia.

I thank you, Greg O’Brien, for sharing something painful and personal -- to raise awareness, and so that we, the public, can understand a bit better.

Your Meta Questions – February 2016

Q. I have been seeing lights. They only show up when my eyes are relaxed. They can appear, dart around and disappear. They are approx. pinhead sized. They show up, dart around, blink out. Any thoughts?

A. (If this has been determined to not be a medical issue:) -- I have seen energy lights from the size you described all the way up to massive balls (mobile or moving portals/wormholes) in the sky. I have seen all sorts of colors (including white) – and each light seems to have an individual energy signature. Some feel as though they are just as curious about me as I am curious about them. Some feel neutral; and a few have felt not so pleasant.

These can be beings showing themselves to you as sparks, or balls, of light. Beings can be attracted by your energy, come and investigate and leave.

I have noticed that, with the smaller sized ones, if I get startled, or focus my attention on them, they will pop out of sight; but if I keep my vision relaxed, they will continue to show themselves.

Once, when I was sitting on a hillside, overlooking a lake, I saw the lights raise up from the water and dance above the water as well as some towards me. Really neat experience.

Q. I have seen lights in or, like pulsing around things – plants, animals, and inanimate things.

A.
As we distance ourselves from the heavy third dimension existence, our 3D perceptions – trained from an early age – may begin to break down…aiding us on perceiving reality, not the illusions we’d grown up with.

Energy is everything and everything is energy. Energy can be perceived, or seen, as light. This is the lighter, less dense vibrations.

For example, in the movie “Lucy”, she begins to see the light/energy/essence of a tree. She is seeing beyond the 3D physical illusions.

Some people can catch glimpses of the light/energy of their reality. Even “manmade” items will exhibit light energy.

Others may see something near them – a wall, for example – begin to pixelate. Then those pixels may appear to float away or disintegrate and show something else behind them.

Think of a painting that is discovered underneath another painting. You strip away the newer, top painting and you can see the painting underneath.

The illusion is removed and we can catch glimpses of reality behind it.

Others may be shifting from seeing non-physical beings in their minds eye to seeing them with physical eyes.

And I am quite sure there are a myriad of other types of experiences of witnessing the illusions breaking down. It all depends on each individual’s perceptions (how they perceive their surroundings) and their life experiences.

One thing, as of now, that they all have in common is this:

If you have an experience at it startles you – or – you bring your eyes into full focus – it disappears. Your reaction can call back the “comfort” of those old illusions.
