Week of February 22,  2016 | KC Streetcar Update

KC STREETCAR TRAINING & TESTING
The KC Streetcar team will be out testing and training this week, Monday - Saturday, 9:00am-5:00pm. Work will take place on the main route as well as at the Singleton Maintenance Facility.

To date, 11 operators and 5 maintenance staff members have been hired and are diligently working towards a spring opening of the KC Streetcar. In addition to classroom training, streetcar operators must conduct numerous hours of On The Job training, including driving 20 round trips on the main route.

Please help keep our operators and streetcars safe when they are out training.  Remember to never cross in front of a moving streetcar as a pedestrian or motorist, and never park on the streetcar tracks, even if for a brief moment.

When parking along the streetcar route, make sure the vehicle is entirely within the white painted line.  If motorists are found in violation, they will be ticketed and towed by the Kansas City Police Department's Parking Enforcement Control.
