Research & Innovation Forum:
York, 6-7 April 2016 - Tickets Available

Building a world class AD industry

The sixth annual ADBA Research & Innovation Forum 2016 will bring together the AD industry, academia and public sector to learn and discuss the latest Research & Innovation across the AD sector. Join us in hearing the latest from the academic community on the leading research being undertaken, and from pioneering innovators in the industry engaging on ‘Translating Research into Profitability’.

The Forum is being held at the University of York in partnership with the Biorenewables Development Centre (BDC), the BBSRC AD Network and supported by the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN). Keynote speakers include; Professor Charles Banks, Head of the Water & Environmental Engineering at University of Southampton; Mike Mason, Chairman at Tropical Power; Dr David Tompkins, Bioresources Development Manager at Aqua Enviro and Elaine Calvert, Commercial Lead - Project CLoCC at the National Grid.

Last year's Forum was attended by over 100 academics and industry professionals where research identified further areas for deployment of AD - doubling our original estimates of its potential from 40TWh/yr to 80TWh/yr, if investment targeted these sectors.

This year the ADBA 2016 R&I Forum promises to be even bigger and better; this is one event you can’t afford to miss!

For academics, this is a tremendous opportunity to put your research in front of industry, and is equally good for industry to investigate cost-saving potential from research. If you need travel help to attend this event, please do contact us.

Early Career Researcher Event - 4-5 Jul 16

Following on from last year’s hugely successful Early Career Researcher (ECR) event held at the University of Warwick, the AD Network is again running an ECR event, timed so that attendees can then attend the ADBA Trade Show, one of the main industry events in the yearly AD Calendar. This event is designed to give ECRs a chance to network with each other and find out about the latest research in a friendly and relaxed environment. Attendees must provide an abstract for a platform or poster presentation and this provides invaluable experience away from a high-pressure big conference environment. There are prizes to be won!  Attendance, accommodation and food are all free to AD Network members. If you are not a member, join here. Download abstract requirements and registration information here and the application form here.
