Kittelson & Carpo, in partnership with the Nordic Business Council Philippines (NBCP) invites you to join our discussion on property investment and acquisition in the Philippines from a foreign perspective on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM at the BDO South Tower (Sign of the Anvil, 5th floor, BDO Corporate Center, Makati Ave. view map here). Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the speaker and other co-participants in an open microphone session.

Attorney Trisha Cruz

Atty. Trisha Cruz is a property, labor and litigation lawyer who obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She is proficient in litigation, having appeared before the first-level trial courts and labor arbiters, as well as the appellate courts – including the Court of Appeals, the Sandiganbayan, and the Supreme Court. She has also handled numerous due diligence projects for large-scale property acquisition ventures of both local and foreign Fortune 500 companies and private individuals.

Prior to her entry to Kittelson and Carpo Consulting, she practiced Commercial and Tax Litigation with the Zambrano and Gruba Law Offices, wherein she primarily handled tax refund cases before the Court of Tax Appeals (“CTA”) for several large domestic and foreign corporations. During her first years of practice, Atty. Cruz was also an associate of the Kapunan Garcia and Castillo Law Offices where her main areas of competence were Labor, Family, and Criminal Litigation – – dealing mainly with cases concerning illegal dismissal of employees, employer-employee relations, annulment of marriage, custody, support, adoption, and the implementation of Republic Act 9262 or the “Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.” Before passing the Bar, Atty. Cruz served as a legal apprentice with the Puno and Puno Law Offices where she likewise dealt with labor and commercial litigation. She is also competent in Philippine Environmental Law, having been part of the legal team which obtained the first Writ of Kalikasan in the Philippines, which was issued by the Supreme Court in 2010.

In 2013, Atty. Cruz became accredited by the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. (PDRCI) as one of their trained arbitrators. She has undergone training in the fields of domestic and international commercial arbitration and has also handled arbitration cases before the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission (CIAC).

Before undertaking the study of law, Atty. Cruz obtained a degree in Bachelor of Arts, Major in Organizational Communication, from the University of the Philippines, Manila. She was Deputy Prime Minister of the University of the Philippines Manila Debate Circle and the Ateneo School of Law St. Thomas More Debate Society. She is the founding president of Ponencia, the Ateneo Law Literary Society.

Since 2012, she has been part of the roster of lecturers for the Commercial Law Department of the De La Salle University where she previously taught Partnership and Corporation Law.
