Whale Watch Extravaganza
Once again, for roughly the 10th year in a row, Greg Howeth, owner of Lahaina Divers and parent at the school, donated a whole day to taking each grade, from preschool through 8th, on a whale watch. The dive boat left out of Lahaina and each class was able to be out on the (kind of choppy) water for a little over an hour.
The day was absolutely incredible, with a bright sun and crystal clear (kind of choppy) water. Every group of students saw some sort of whale action; from breeches and tail slaps, to the boat being surrounded by four different whales (and there was a rumor of a hammerhead shark sighting, but take it with a grain of salt considering it was started by an 8 year old boy).
A huge mahalo to Greg for donating his boat and crew to a very memorable and very fun day on the (kind of choppy) water.
Thank you also to Valerie Leon for going on the 5th grade whale watch and getting some fantastic pictures!
