Science and Innovation vital for Australian farmers

The need for innovative and evidence based approaches to pest animal management is imperative for Australian farmers if the agricultural industry is to hit its predicted boom.

Pest and Weed Drought Funding

Land managers in drought affected areas throughout NSW are encouraged to apply for up to $3 million through the 2015-2016 Pest and Weed Drought Funding program before 4 April 2016. More information, including funding guidelines and application available [ here ]

Biosecurity Legislation Information Sessions

The Dept of Agriculture and Water Resources will host a series of free Information Sessions throughout March and April. The free sessions will provide an overview of the new legislation and explain how the new Biosecurity Act may affect your industry.

North Coast Local Land Services is seeking community input into the Draft Hastings Wild Deer Management Strategy which has been released for public comment.

Biosecurity Advisory: Species profiles for comment

The Tasmanian Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment invites public comment on import proposals for five new species/subspecies into Tasmania. They include the siberian tiger and four bird species. More info [ here ]

Conservation through the sustainable use of wildlife: call for abstracts

The Conservation through Sustainable Use of Wildlife Conference will be held from 30 August - 1 September 2016 in Brisbane. The Call for Abstracts has been extended to  Monday 21 March 2016.
