We have been filling up your toolbox with some great ways to stay above the Wellness Line.

Today, we are going to focus on our emotional health.
Do you ever feel like throwing the toolbox or maybe just throwing in the towel?
Often, we feel like we are riding an emotional rollercoaster, no matter what is going on in our lives.

Our emotions can be affected by the food we eat, our hormones and much more. But today we are going to give you a tool to add to your toolbox to help release the emotions and replace them with a way out.

Most of us are aware of the negative side of an emotion, but we rarely think about the positive or the other side, or how to access the emotions.

Let’s look at the emotion anger: the normal response or expression is usually painful; consequently we develop defenses to protect ourselves. We ignore, repress, or stuff our negative emotions.


What happens when we stuff these emotions?
They are held in the body and eventually produce physical or emotional pain.

What happens when we release negative emotions?
In the case of anger: you may see fighting, arguing, throwing, kicking or screaming.

Anger does not always have to have a negative effect. It could also provide the desire to change an unhealthy situation or a solution to a problem.
The alternative to a negative response it to express the positive side of the emotion.

What is the positive expression of anger?
Laughter.

Now would you rather experience anger or laughter?

Now you get to choose if you want to hold on to the negative emotion or release the emotion and replace it with a positive expression.

How do I release an emotional pattern with essential oils?
There are several ways to release an emotion, but today we are going to discuss 3 Ways we can use the resource book: Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils by Carolyn L. Mein, DC (REP)

Three ways we can reference this book for emotional health are through:
1. Emotions
2. Essential Oils
3. Alarm Points
Emotions

If you have a specific emotion you are dealing with then go straight to finding that emotion. (Use this information to fill out your Emotional Health Worksheet)

Ex: Emotion: Anger
Other Side: Laughter
Way Out/Affirmation: "My direction is clear"
Essential Oil: Purification
Alarm Point/Location: Liver
Chart: C,D,G,H


All of this information is found in the book.
Now let’s look at what we can do with this information.
  • Take your essential oil (purification) and place a drop into your hand and activate it by moving the oil in a clockwise motion three times.
  • Inhale the oil deeply as you say the way-out/affirmation 2-3 times or until you believe it. “My direction is clear.”
  • Then place the oil at the alarm point location (found in the reference book chart) and repeat the affirmation again.

Testimony:
My son at the age of 7 was found in his room throwing things, which was not his normal behavior. When asked what was wrong, he replied, “I don’t know.” We had been using the oils for several years at this point and he loved my oil bag, so I invited him to come and smell some of my oils with me. I looked up anger in the REP and chose the purification oil and inhaled it as I said “my direction is clear” I gave him the oil bottle and he did the same. I asked him what he was angry about again and he replied, “I don’t even remember” and began to laugh. He was not aware of the positive emotion and I was floored by his response. He then asked if he could go back and play with his friends. This is when I realized not only did I love using this technique for my own emotions, but to also help my children release their negative emotions too.                                                  ~Shawna Cale
Essential Oil
Another technique using the REP book is matching an oil with an emotion.

Have you ever disliked the smell of an oil that others loved and wondered why? Some believe that it could be an emotional reason.

Let’s use the Essential Oil Lavender as an example. Many people smell lavender and it brings back memories of grandma or some other wonderful feeling. Others dislike the smell.

In the REP you can look up Lavender and find that one of the emotions connected with it is abandonment. (Use this information to fill out your Emotional Health Worksheet)


Ex: Emotion: Abandonment
Other Side: At-one-ment
Way Out/Affirmation: "I embrace all of life’s experiences"
Essential Oil: Lavender
Alarm Point/Location: Small intestine
Chart: E,F,G,H

Now let’s look at what we can do with this information.
  • Take your essential oil (lavender) and place a drop into your hand and activate it by moving the oil in a clockwise motion three times.
  • Inhale the oil deeply as you say the way-out/affirmation 2-3 times or until you believe it. “I embrace all of life’s experiences”
  • Then place the oil at the alarm point location (found in the reference book chart) and repeat the affirmation again.

*If you are unable to smell the oil then use the foot alarm point and put on socks. You can even put a roller ball on the oil so that you don’t have to get it on your hands. Many people have done this for 30 days and found that they no longer dislike the essential oil and have moved through the negative emotion.
Alarm Point

Have you ever had an area on your body that was tender and you have no idea why? There could be an emotional tie. You can look in the REP book and find the Alarm Point on one of the charts.

Let’s use the example of your temple being tender. This is the Vision Alarm Point. (Use that information to fill out your Emotional Health Worksheet)


Ex: Emotion: Overwhelmed
Other Side: Vision
Way Out/Affirmation: "I focus my energy"
Essential Oil: Envision
Alarm Point/Location: Vision/Temple
Chart: B

Now let’s look at what we can do with this information.
  • Take your essential oil (Envision) and place a drop into your hand and activate it by moving the oil in a clockwise motion three times.
  • Inhale the oil deeply as you say the way-out/affirmation 2-3 times or until you believe it. “I focus my energy”
  • Then place the oil at the alarm point location (found in the reference book chart) and repeat the affirmation again.
