The 2016 Mythos Challenge has started!

We're thrilled by our partnership with the Mythos Youth Council and the Portland Art Museum to grow Oregon's 1st statewide connected learning challenge in STEAM. With the support of amazing community partners, the youth council is growing the Challenge to reach more youth, encourage them to be STEAM innovators, and celebrate the creative, diverse voice of youth in responding to community and social problems.

This year theme of Space and Place brings new opportunities and hands-on fun including:
  • 3 no-fee local camps at your local Multnomah County Libraries from March to April. The first one starts this Saturday, March 5th.

  • Our 1st Challenge maker faire on April 2nd. At Make+Think+Code the Mythos Challenge, amazing STEAM educators will host activities and experiences for youth to imagine, build, and share their creations. Youth, families, caregivers, and educators can choose from multiple activities by Airways Science, Girls, Inc., ChickTech, Innovation Academy, CYMA Space, PNCA, and Pixel Arts.

  • In June, the Youth Council will be sharing youth makers in STEAM with local, community pop-ups. Bring a pop-up lab to your community! To host a playlab, contact the Council here.

  • Awards Gala with prizes and awards from PAGES' youth play fund. With the generous donation of $5,000 by Jeffrey Sens to the fund, this will be our 2nd year providing direct economic investment of Oregon youth in STEAM and games.
