Are You Ready For Passover?
Make Nugget Your Source for Pesach Provisions
As many CBH partners know, finding kosher for Passover foods, other than matzo, can be difficult in Yolo County. However, with your CBH leadership on the case, solutions are on the horizon!
An ad hoc committee has formed to work with local grocery stores to improve the selection available to the Jews of our community. In addition to receiving a nice list of items stocked by Whole Foods, a recent meeting with Nugget management resulted in an increased commitment to stocking a range of suitable goods, and more flexibility to make purchases of matzo, in particular, in smaller quantities. Nugget staff intends to have their Passover items in stock by Wednesday, March 9. Please prioritize shopping for pesach at Nugget, in order to ensure their continued interest in serving our community for years to come.

Jewish Genealogical Society of Sacramento
"Reclaim the Records: Using Freedom of Information Laws for Genealogy"
Sunday, March 20, 10:00 a.m.
Albert Einstein Residence Center, 1935 Wright Street, Sacramento
Brooke Schreier Ganz will talk about the organization she founded, "Reclaim the Records." The organization uses state Freedom of Information laws to get "off-limits" genealogy records released back to the public and posted online for free. The group successfully challenged the New York City Municipal Archives in court, and acquired the first-ever 20th Century genealogy indices from New Jersey.
In addition to founding Reclaim the Records (www.reclaimtherecords.org), Ganz is a computer programmer whose open-source genealogy software, LeafSeek, has enabled more than a million archival records to be available for free online. She is also a director of the nonprofit genealogy organization Gesher Galicia.
