Africa Domain Name System Forum 2016
The 2016  Africa Domain Name system Forum will hold at the Hotel Pullman Marrakech Palemeraie Resort and Spa in Marrakech, Morocco.

The Africa Domain Name System forum, an annual open event for stakeholders in the Domain Name Industry in Africa, enables registries , registrars and other stakeholder in Africa to share experiences, interact and learn from each other about the domain name system.
The meeting seeks to foster cross border collaboration between registries, registrars and registrants as well as other stakeholders. The objectives being inter alia to inspire and encourage local stakeholders (government, registrars, registries, and registrants) in the domain name industry to interact at local and International level as well as equipping African Registries and Registrars with the requisite domain name industry business strategies.
 

DOMAIN NAMES COUNT REPORT FROM JANUARY TO FEBRUARY 2016
In February 2016, 2,376 new domain names were registered, 1,269 domain names were renewed and there were 94 transfers between the NiRA Accredited Registrars. The number of domain names registered in February 2016 was 60% growth of what was registered in February 2015. It is interesting and refreshing to witness such growth. The renewal rate is encouraging as well. The graph and table below indicates the domain name registrations and renewals for three months periods December, January and February across the years.
