Hi folks,

Thank you so much for joining us at Bethel Community Transformation Center last Shabbat! We hope you enjoyed singing together and building Shabbat community in Detroit. Many of you expressed interest in a recording of the niggun that Joey taught us before Havdallah. Below you’ll find that tune and some upcoming opportunities to sing with Joey Weisenberg.

In addition, we are continuing to support the installation of bunk beds at Bethel Community Transformation Center. Bunk beds will allow volunteer groups to stay in the building while doing community service projects in and around BCTC and Detroit.

There are two ways you can help:

1) Click here to make a donation to help purchase the first 10 bunk beds. Donate $100 or more and your name will be engraved on the bed frame for future generations to see.

2) Donate new or gently used clean and bagged twin size sheets, blankets, pillows and pillow cases. You can drop off these items at Temple Beth El in the designated box in the foyer.

In gratitude,

Rachel Rudman
Program Director, Temple Beth El

Shabbaton Survey

We'd love to hear your comments and reviews of the Shabbaton!

Hi there Detroit friends,

I had such a great time singing with you this past weekend!  I loved singing and getting to create lots of special moments with you all.  My favorite part was the amazing Havdallah we did when the candle was lighting up the old sanctuary.

By way of follow up, I wanted to send along a video of one of the melodies we sang together on Shabbat Morning, and the one we did at Havdallah, and to offer a few opportunities for you to continue to learn and sing with us at Mechon Hadar. I hope to see you soon!!

All the best,
