GRASS HOPE PROJECT – helping desperate farmers to feed their animals
The Earth Children Society is calling for help – as a result of the terrible droughts, many farmers are unable to feed their animals. The Earth Children are collecting our school's grass clippings which will be turned into food pellets. We desperately need help in transporting the grass clippings to the drop off point in Stellenbosch on a weekly basis. We are hoping that there are parents who travel through to Stellenbosch for work who between them would be able to drop off a few bags each or every other week. PLEASE let Ms. Chambers at chambersj@rghs.org.za know if you are able to help.

Sunflower bandana blankets
Interact Society recently ran a collection of old Sunflower Fund bandanas and other sewing materials in the school. Yvett Haarburger, who sewed together the knitted squares Rustenburg collected last year, has been sewing these materials into beautiful blankets and pillows for St Antonine’s Home for the Aged and a children’s home in Masiphumelele. It has been a great way to re-purpose material that was going to waste into something sorely needed by the homes.
