Dear <<First Name>>,

Well it’s been some time since we last sent a newsletter out, and you may be surprised at our unusual silence! There has been quite a lot of change on at Firedog and this email will fill you in on what’s been going on.

I have decided to return to Cape Town after almost nineteen years in the UK. With young kids now in tow, a return to family, sunshine and nature felt like the right thing to do. Part of this process involved wrapping up the studio in Hoxton Square.

Firedog still very much operates in the UK. I travel back to London frequently, working and collaborating closely with our existing clients. We have also taken on a couple of partnerships with local agencies so that we are able to successfully fulfil any new business, whilst still presenting a local face on the ground.

Our shift in focus is probably what has changed the most. As an agency, we are going back to our first love – that of brand creation and visual identity development. These skills cover strategy, storytelling and articulation. And this creative focus also applies to campaign and communications, utilising high-end visual identity and image creation.

We are killing off any link with website production, code development and digital technologies. We found the pursuit of these fields distracting to our primary offering. We’ve always been most passionate in the business of creating striking ideas and visual identities, realised with aesthetically powerful imagery and are happy to be returning to this core focus.

Firedog may have moved from London, but we have still been producing at a breakneck pace. Have a look at a couple of the following projects for an overview of what we have been up to.

If you want to get in touch, just reply to this email and say hello!. Till I hear from you again, keep well!

CASE STUDY : LOC RE-BRAND

LOC is an independent marine and engineering consultancy and survey organisation with 30 offices around the world. LOC was established in London in 1979 and has grown to over 400 staff over the years. Firedog was tasked with defining a new brand positioning, articulating their unique story into a cohesive narrative, along with undertaking a full rebrand of all the businesses marketing and communications. The visual identity represents a global set of individual businesses, organically tied together with a greater cohesive thread. We used cartographic, nautical charting and engineering references to build a system which appears both exacting, yet flexible, agile and organic. A reflection of the future business principals.

CASE STUDY : SYGNIA INTEGRATED ANNUAL REPORT

Firedog has worked together with Sygnia since 2006. Over the past few weeks we have been refreshing a number of communications and the Integrated Annual Report is an example of how we have evolved the brand, whilst paying respect to the original brand created by Firedog over 10 years ago.

CASE STUDY : AUDINATE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN

Audinate is a music technology business which has its primary HQ in Portland, Oregon. It's patented Dante media networking technology has been adopted by over 150 of the leading manufacturers and professionals in the audio/visual industry. Firedog was tasked to create a new integrated campaign for a new virtual software proposition called Dante Via. We were responsible for coming up with the core creative positioning and applying the concepts to print and digital display advertising.
