We're staying here.

We want to preserve and restore the historic aspects of this local landmark and provide much needed additional space for books, media, and places to read, study, and learn. There are essential and urgent updates needed to make the building accessible, improve energy efficiency, and create the space that will serve our current and future community needs.

Plans for the expansion and renovation include:

A new elevator and street level entrance will allow library access for seniors, parents with strollers, and people with disabilities
Increased space for books, movies, and programs
A community meeting room, a teen room, and a new children's room
Renovated study areas
Energy efficient updates and two new restrooms
Restored historic architecture

Exploration Station: Rabbits!
Saturday, April 9th, 10:30am
Have some fun while we learn about rabbits and their habits. Make your own rabbit creation at the craft table. Bring a young learner for this free science program designed for children in preschool through 3rd grade.

Intro to Spanish II
Starts Saturday, April 9th, 1:00pm - 3:00pm
This three-class, not-for-credit, language-learning series is taught by East Bethel resident and Venezuela native Francis Noel. Classes are free and will be held on three Saturday afternoons, from 1-3 p.m., in the library: April 9, April 23, and May 7. The class textbook is "Spanish is Fun: Lively Lessons for Beginners (4th edition)" by Heywood Wald. No registration required.

Book Club
April 4th and April 18th, 7pm
It's not too late to join the book club! The next book for discussion on April 4th will be Edith Wharton's The Age of Innocence. Following that, Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 will be the final book in this book club session on April 18th. Books are available for checkout from the library.
