As the Spring semester gets underway and we all get busy with our work obligations, we hope that all RITYPs can find time to attend some of these great upcoming events.  Hope to see you there!

Register Today! Young Professionals in Higher Ed Conference

conferenceRegister today! The Young Professionals in Higher Education Conference, hosted by the RIT Young Professionals and the University of Rochester Young Leaders, is Friday, March 25, 9-4 p.m. The conference will feature key note presentations from Brian Uzzi and Erica Dhawan, as well as break-out sessions on Work/Life Balance, Engaging with Faculty, Negotiation Training, and Moving Forward with Your Higher Ed Career. We hope you can join us for what will be a great day of learning and networking with your peers in higher education from around the Rochester area. For the latest conference updates and announcements visit our conference website.   

As part of the event, we will be hosting a book drive to support local public libraries. If you have any gently used books in need of a new home, we encourage you to donate! Collections bins will be available at on-site registration. 

Night out at Eastman School of Music – Jazz Café featuring bassist Scott Colley

Friday, April 1st, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.  

violaRITYP is partnering with the Eastman School of Music to provide discounted tickets to an upcoming performance at their Jazz Café. Brown-Bag Lunch with Kathy Carcaci, RIT’s longest serving staff employee (51 years)!

Tuesday, April 12th, 12:00-1:00 p.m., SAU 1829 

KathyKathy, Manager of Staff Recruiting in Human Resources, will be joining us to talk about maximizing RIT’s resources, benefits, and opportunities to professionally develop. Many of us at RIT are likely aware of the benefits we have access to—but are we taking advantage of them? Kathy is going to share her wealth of knowledge about ways we can improve our skill-sets and grow professionally. This will be an informal conversation/Q&A event, in which everyone is welcome to bring a lunch and engage in conversation with Kathy about some of the topics below:

  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Club Advisor roles
  • Webinars
  • CPD classes
  • Coop/Career services support for alums
  • Shadowing possibilities
