Aloha <<First Name>>,
In this week's edition of Pacific Business News, contributing editor Jim George challenged the community to speak out in support of TMT, or else face the possibility of great loss to our state and future.
"The Thirty Meter Telescope has the potential to unlock cosmic mysteries… Mauna Kea is the best site on the planet to enable the TMT to do its job. Building it there will generate millions of dollars in economic benefits and make the Big Island a gathering place for future potential Nobel laureates.
"Yet we’re not hearing so much as a chirp from many of our most influential leaders and scientific minds who say privately that they support the TMT.
"Hawaii can come together as a community and rescue the TMT from the bureaucratic muck. Or it can continue its silence and let one more opportunity slip away. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist - or in this case an astrophysicist - to understand what’s at stake."
