7 Tips for Maximizing Your Time at the Reps' Meeting

The CEO Forum & Reps' Meeting is just days away! As a CQIN Rep, you are the main point of contact between your organization and CQIN. Whether you are new to the role or have been with us for some time, please take a moment to review CQIN's Rep Guidelines to ensure that you are providing the best possible support to your organization throughout the year.

As you get ready to meet this year’s Learning Partners and preview their presentations, we’ve asked a few veteran Reps for advice on how to make the most of this year’s event. Here’s what we learned:

  1. Learn about the Learning Partners
Study up on the speakers who will be in attendance and come prepared to ask them specific questions. Joining us at this year’s Reps' Meeting will be:
    • Dr. Mark Milliron, Co-Founder and Chief Learner Officer, Civitas Learning
    • Dr. Lou A. Guthrie, Director, National Higher Education Benchmarking Institute
    • Matt McKenzie, Vice President of Digital Strategy, Intermark Group
    • Pete Reicks, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Performance Excellence, Elevations Credit Union
  2. Provide feedback
Contribute to the Summer Institute’s learning design and delivery method by providing the Summer Institute Coordinator with candid feedback about the Learning Partners’ presentations. This includes replying to emails from CQIN and your fellow Reps to give input, represent your organization in planning, and help everyone benefit from the network. Your participation will help us tailor the program to provide the most powerful learning experience possible.
  3. Coordinate with your CEO
Talk with your CEO about his or her goals, ideas, needs, and expectations related to this year’s theme and learning partners. Discuss the makeup of your CQIN team and projects your team might participate in.
  4. Bring plenty of business cards (and share them!)
The Reps' Meeting is a valuable networking event. Don’t leave home without a stack of business cards, and be sure to keep them handy throughout the event. Use the cards you collect to stay in touch after the event. Your fellow Reps can be a valuable resource when challenges, issues, and questions arise.
  5. Plan ahead
After you return from the CEO Forum & Reps Meeting, create a summary of this year’s learning theme, goals and expectations, things your team will need to do to prepare for the upcoming Summer Institute, program and travel logistics, and important items your teammates should bring with them. This information will help ensure that everyone is on the same page and that your team arrives at Summer Institute prepared to learn and engage.
  6. Get to know the CQIN team
CQIN’s staff and Executive Committee members are always available to help you. Take time to talk to them about your needs and learn about the many resources that CQIN can offer to you and your institution.

  7. Download the Guidebook
