Research update: Ageing well as an autistic adult in Australia

Jane Hwang is now one year into her studies which is based around the topic ‘Ageing well’ as an autistic adult in Australia. Ageing well refers to having good overall health and wellbeing in all areas of one’s life, as they get older. She has now completed 15 interviews with autistic adults and 7 interviews with carers of autistic adults in Australia (thank you to all who took part!). Participants in the interviews were of all ages, from 26 years to 80 years old, and from all parts of Australia. As her interviews finish up, the next step will be to explore the gathered information in more depth, to find out the key themes and ideas which which are important to the meaning and experience of ageing well for autistic adults in Australia.

As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments.
