Hilo Couch to 5k
One of our most popular training groups is coming to Hilo! The free Hilo Couch to 5k program will start with two introductory meetings this week - Wednesday, March 9 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, March 12 at 6:30 a.m. at Big Island Running Company's Hilo location on Bayfront.
No prior running experience is necessary. Our great coaches will get you from no running (aka, the couch) to running the Scholarship 5k Run on Sunday, May 15 at 7:30 a.m. at Reed's Bay. Throughout the 9-week program, runners will meet up three times a week for group runs at Big Island Running Company - Monday and Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 6:30 a.m.
Group participants will also receive a free Run Big shirt upon completing the program to wear in the race. There will also be a post-race beach party to help everyone celebrate their accomplishments! For more information, contact Cary at 808-961-5950 or cary@bigislandrunningcompany.com.

BOCO Gear
If you happened to be in Kona during the Ironman World Championships last October, you may have noticed a hat brand taking the town by storm. Boco Gear, based in Boulder, Colorado, created hats for Ironman and many other vendors, including Big Island Running Company. These hats were so popular, they essentially sold out before we were able to advertise them anywhere. But they are back in stock now!
We currently have two technical trucker hats, perfect for running or casual wear, two visors and two running hats, all pictured below. In addition to having some great eye-catching designs, these hats are built for performance and fit like a glove. We will also be receiving some great Run Aloha designs this month, so you'll want to stock up!

This Saturday, March 12, Hale Kui Plaza is hosting a huge sidewalk sale with food, entertainment, and sales! Feetures! Max My Run
March is MaxMyRun month for Feetures! socks. To celebrate, they are helping us host a special group run on Thursday, March 31 at 5 p.m. at our Alii Drive store. Bring in a pair of your old socks and Feetures! will swap you out with a brand new pair of max cushion Feetures! elite socks. There's also a chance to win a year's supply of Elite max cushion socks. Hilo Spike Clearance!
