Hi Moms and Dads

This newsletter is a very important form of communication. If you do not receive one via email, please let Jane have your email so that we can send you one and if you would prefer a hard copy in your child’s pocket, please let Jane know so that we can do this for you!
We are in to the last week of the school Term 1. This will be the last newsletter of the term as we break up for a two week holiday this Friday 18th March. Please note that we do not break up early on Friday, we have a normal day and the children can be fetched at their normal home time. Stay and Play will also continue as normal until 6pm.

Holiday care is offered for the two week holiday. Every day except the public holidays of course. A list of activities being done with the children will be up in the Stay and Play room this week to let you know what the children will be getting up to. Please note Ingrid, Shante and Nawaal will be managing Holiday care. Assistants as well as Andre will also be on duty every day to ensure your children have a fun morning and afternoon.
Casual holiday care is offered at a fee of R45 for the morning and R75 for full day. There is no extra charge for those who pay the monthly ‘permanent’ rate for Stay and Play.

We wish you all a very Blessed Easter Holiday and a wonderful time together with your family. Term 2 begins on Tuesday 5th April.
We will be having an Easter Raffle this week. Please remember to buy your tickets from your teachers or pop into the office. We have 6 wonderful Easter Hampers to raffle! What a wonderful item to take home for the Easter Holidays!! There will be one winner in each class and we will be drawing the raffle winners on Friday morning. The last day of school is also DRESS UP DAY- let’s get creative and help your children dress up!! Easter theme!!

CLASS REPS

Thank you to those parents who managed to attend our meeting last Tuesday. We thank you for your time and support. Minutes have been sent out for your information.

SUPPORT GROUP FOR SINGLE PARENTS

"Being a single parent often means being tired, overwhelmed, stressed and constantly sacrificing your own needs for whatever your children require. It can help to share your stories and get support from other parents who are living in similar situations to you. Single parents can be a great comfort to one another, and can listen and relate to what you are going through in a way that your other friends and family members cannot."
We would like to start a support group and meet once a month or once every two months, at school or at a nearby child friendly restaurant.
If you are interested, kindly contact Heidi via email: heidithor@gmail.com

DAD'S CAMP-OUT

We had a super camp out for the Dad’s and children on Friday evening. The weather turned out to be not so bad and the campers awoke to a glorious Saturday morning. Thank you to the dad’s for their support. Thanks too to Derek who was available to sell coffee/hot chocolate etc, to John, a security guard who came to keep an eye on the cars for the evening and to Jacques from Paul Greyling who allowed us to park our cars in their grounds for added security.

GATE

Please pop into the office to have your fingerprint registered or apply for a card, so that you can gain access to the school via the scanner. We will need grandparents/aunties etc who fetch your child regularly to also register their fingerprints.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU CLOSE BOTH GATES WHEN ENTERING AND LEAVING THE SCHOOL FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILDREN!

Hi Everyone.

Our theme for this week is Easter!
We will be talking about the meaning of Easter and why people celebrate this day!
Next Term we will be starting our ‘Show and Tell.’
We have decided to have it on the first day of every month. The children will not be allowed to play with the items brought from home though!! The items brought will be kept on the shelf during the school day.

FACEBOOK
We love sharing pictures from the school day. Teachers only put photos up on Facebook once a week. Any parent who does not want their child’s photos to appear on Facebook should let their teacher know. www.facebook.com/fhpps.

And on that note...

Have a super week everyone. Please don't hesitate to chat to me or the teachers if you have any questions or concerns.

‘We are not here just to make a living!
We are here to make a difference!’

Have a Happy Easter Everyone!
