Earth Day 2016 Design Contest Winner

Congratulations to Tiffany Chau, winner of the 2016 Earth Day Design Contest. Tiffany is a Georgia Tech freshman majoring in mechanical engineering and a board member of the Design Club at Georgia Tech. She says "I started designing T-shirts at the beginning of high school and have loved graphic design ever since." With respect to her design for Earth Day 2016, Tiffany says "My goal was to create something that represented both nature and the theme, so there's the concept of the shovel created by two leaves. The entire piece also uses lively organic colors. I'm incredibly honored that my design was chosen to represent an important event."

Tiffany's design will be printed on the 2016 Earth Day T-shirts. Don't miss your chance to get one! T-shirts will be given out  (while supplies last) to participants who complete the deconstructed maze during the Earth Day Festival on Friday, April 22 (10am-3pm) at the IC lawn. Earth Day volunteers, exhibitors, and sponsors also receive T-shirts.

Tech Beautification Day Volunteers Clean
Up East Campus Recycling Center

Tech Beautification Day 2016
On Saturday, March 12th a group of Tech Beautification Day volunteers spent the morning spring-cleaning the east campus recycling center, near the intersection of 6th Street and Techwood Drive. Volunteers swept the ground, raked leaves, put new stickers on the containers, and helped out with other tasks to clean and beautify the site. The students did a great job. Thank you everyone for your help!
Tech Beautification Day is an annual event. Each year, several hundred students volunteer their time to help out with projects across campus, such as planting trees and flowers. The students work closely with Georgia Tech Facilities Management Landscape Services, which provides coordination and logistical support for Tech Beautification Day.
