SPECIAL NOTE: Champion Pet Foods (the parent company of Acana and Orijen) has opened their own plant in Kentucky. Previously, all of their ingredients were sourced and made in their Canadian plant (Now only available to retailers in Canada). This means that Orijen and Acana will now have locally sourced and family owned ingredients from the United States and made in their company owned plant. This means fewer out of stocks for customers and retailers and a wider range of availability without compromising on quality. Champion Pet Food is Non GMO and they are in the process of having the Kentucky plant European Union Certified- which means it would be held to the same standards of European plants, which are much higher than USA plants. Thomas' Tails can no longer get bags of Acana from the Canadian plant. Orijen will switch to the Kentucky plant at a later date. Allergy Season is Right Around the Corner!
Do you have a dog or cat with red or itchy skin? Smells like yeast? Frequently licking paws? Watery eyes?
Grass, dust, and pollen can all play a part in seasonal allergy flare ups! You can help manage these problems by wiping off your dogs' feet, legs, and belly after coming in from out side. Wiping with a damp cloth helps remove pollen and grass to prevent an itchy dog.
Adding fish oil or coconut oil can also help ease seasonal allergies symptoms. Oils high in Omega 3 and 6, like fish and coconut, have anti-inflammatory properties and are helpful in combating allergies.
Allergy supplements that contain Quercetin or Biotin are highly recommended. These two ingredients are a natural antihistamine and will greatly reduce the effects of seasonal allergies.
Be proactive and stop in and see us at Thomas' Tails before those pesky allergies cause your pet to become an itchy, unhappy pet!
