Issue 19, March 2016
Spring is around the corner and we are certainly enjoying the warmer temperatures. We have 4-5 mission teams already scheduled to come help us at Lakota Pointe and Meadow Ridge this summer.  Just as we look forward to the new life that Spring brings, we are looking forward to the new life that God will bring to us as well.

In February we had to reevaluate a few things at Abundant Life Church.  We knew the winter may take a toll on attendance at our small groups but didn't anticipate the low attendance at Meadow Ridge.  We have stopped meeting there for now. 😔 We are REALLY looking forward to our scheduled mission teams coming to help rekindle some old relationships and create new ones!  Please be praying that God would bring many strong relationships with these residents and that He would show us more effective ways to get people involved in our small groups.
February Highlights
Lakota Pointe

We are continuing the Bible study series entitled More Than Enough.  We have two lessons left: Our Need for Peace and Our Need for Purpose.  As we work through these studies together with the residents, it reminds us and helps us truly see that Jesus is more than enough to meet those needs.

Last month we told you about possibly meeting at Royal Redeemer Church so our children and childcare workers would have more space.  We met once and it was a wonderful alternative.  Unfortunately they are not able to accommodate us on Mondays.  They said we could meet on Thursdays but much of our childcare staff cannot help on Thursdays.  So for now, we continue to meet at the Lakota Pointe rental office. This was a little discouraging but we know God has a better plan to reveal to us eventually.

In in the midst of times feeling discouraged about how things are going we received one of the nicest compliments from one of the residents.  She said, "We need more people like you.  Why? Because you're the Biblical example of outreach ministry and what the word describes as His disciples. I've never met more real, loving, non judgmental people in my life.  I'm ALWAYS encouraged when I'm with you all and even when I'm away from you.  That's the impression you leave on me."

The Lord definitely knew how to help us stay focused on the task before us!

                Heritagesprings of West Chester

We so enjoy our time with the residents at Heritagesprings each month!  As we have said before it breaks our hearts when these dear saints pass away.  We had to say goodbye to 2 more of our sweet residents that faithfully came to chapel, they will be greatly missed.  These two ladies were the best of friends and died within a week or so of one another.  No doubt they are rejoicing with our Lord now!

We we are grateful for Hank White helping us these past few months.  He is such a blessing to us and the residents!  We will miss him while he is staying with his other daughter.

We we want to thank Daniel Whitaker for stepping up and filling in as our worship leader.  He does a wonderful job and everyone loves him!

           Meadow Ridge       and         North Pointe

As mentioned in the opening paragraph of this newsletter, we have stopped having our small groups here temporarily.  We know God opened the door for us to serve here and are excited about what is to come at this complex.  There is GREAT potential for God to move in mighty ways at Meadow Ridge and North Pointe.  We will continue to pray for opportunities for us to minister here and for us to share Christ with them.  We barely served here last summer since it was a new location for us.  This summer we will place much more emphasis on here.  We are very thankful for the good relationships we have with the managers, that's half the battle!
We have a Facebook community page and a website. Please take a moment and check them out.  We would love your feedback!

 This Month's Specific Prayer Needs
  • Discipleship for new believers
  • Our current relationships at the apartment complexes to stay strong
  • Spiritual growth for those attending small group Bible study at Lakota Pointe
  • Residents to invite their neighbors
  • Direction at Meadow Ridge
  • Amber and her children
  • Possible location outside of Lakota Pointe for childcare during meetings
  • Wisdom to help meet the needs of residents at Lakota Pointe
  • New relationships with residents at Meadow Ridge and North Pointe.

Ongoing Prayer Needs
  • That we would look for, recognize, and create ways to get the Gospel message to the lost people in these multi-housing areas
  • That Allen and Lisa's daily walk with God would never get pushed aside by the busyness of this world, including the busyness of family or even this ministry.
  • Balancing work, ministry and family
Support our Ministry

We appreciate ALL support for the ministry, we can't do it without the help of others. If you are able to financially support us we would be eternally grateful!!

You can support our ministry in three different ways:

PRAYING

A praying partner commits to praying specifically for my wife and I, our ministry, and our multi-housing residents. Prayer support is vital for us as we serve on the field!

PARTICIPATING
A participating partner commits to becoming involved personally in our ministry. For example, your church may want to send mission teams to assist us or seek to mobilize individuals within your church to be sent as short or long term missionaries as part of our planting team.

PROVIDING

A providing partner commits to supporting our ministry financially. All funds will be handled and deposited by our NAMB strategic partner, Lakota Hills Baptist Church in West Chester, Ohio. All donations are tax deductible. Please make checks payable to Lakota Hills Baptist Church. Be sure to include "Allen Lawless" on the memo line.

HELP WANTED!

Lakota Pointe
Our small group is growing so we could use some additional people to help with childcare. This does not have to be a long term commitment. Would you be willing to help with even one evening? Would you be willing to be on call in a pinch?
Please consider being part of our childcare team so that the ladies (and hopefully men) can learn truths from God's Word.

Heritagesprings
We have an easy way for you to be a blessing to our residents at Heritagesprings!  We are looking for some additional people to come the first two Sunday's each month and wheel residents to chapel, then help them to their rooms or bingo following the service.  We meet at 1:30 and are done by 2:45. Let us know if you would be interested in joining us!

Do you play an instrument or know somebody that does?We are looking for anyone interested in playing the piano or other instruments during our chapel service the first two Sundays of the month.  We have a rotational schedule and are looking for a minimum of 6 people so that each person only has to commit to 4 chapel services per year!  Your job usually consists of playing two songs during a 30 minute chapel service. This is an easy opportunity for you to use the gifts that God has given you to serve Him.

Please contact Allen or Lisa if you are willing to serve alongside us!
