Training in preparation for a disaster
The Snohomish County Medical Reserve Corps works to supplement the health care system in times of a disaster, and in partnership with the Verdant Health Commission, it offers new trainings to both medical professionals and area citizens who would like to assist when disaster strikes. The Psychological First Aid training is open to anyone in the public who would like to help in a crisis. The training covers topics like how to gather information on someone's needs and concerns, provide a connection to social supports and share information on coping strategies. The next training is taking place on Saturday, March 19 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Verdant Community Wellness Center in Lynnwood. Contact Therese Quinn at tquinn@snohd.org if you would like to sign up or are interested in learning more about the Medical Reserve Corps.
