Ides of March, Schmides of March
They say that March comes in like a lion, but it's been 70 degrees and balmy in Providence, so we're hoping for a continued lamb-streak that takes us all the way into spring! That photo above includes Tracie playing her newest instrument, the trumpet kazoo. This was a special purchase for our performance of David Bowie's "Kooks," but may find its way into other songs at opportune times (if you buy into the possibility that there are opportune times for trumpet kazoo solos).
We've got a couple of things coming up this month (and technically one of those things is in April, but given how long it takes us to get a newsletter out it seemed prudent to mention it now). Tonight (tonight!) we'll be playing a special show at Gallery 263, as part of the DuoTone Club Passim members concert series. If you're already a member, contact courtney@passim.org to RSVP. And if you're not a member and that makes you sad, become one! You'll have access to free shows like this one, along with other perks including the good feeling that comes with supporting a legendary music venue.
And then on April 1, we'll be opening for Virginia-based songwriter Rob Williams at the Brooklyn Coffee & Tea House in Providence. He's touring the east coast, so please come out and help make his stop in Rhody a memorable one!
In between, Tracie is taking a trip west, which includes a night in Pioneertown -- essentially an Old West movie set where people live. Thus, there's a a high probability that new cowboy songs will emerge in future months! Beware if she learns how to yodel.
Thanks as always for your support, and we hope to see you at a show soon!
OXOXOX,
Tracie & Steve
