King Harold Academy students attend Hertfordshire Maverick’s professional netball match

Building on King Harold Academy’s netball successes throughout this year a group of Year 9, 10 and 11 girls watched a professional netball game between Hertfordshire Mavericks and Celtic Dragons at the University of Hertfordshire.

The trip was arranged by PC teacher Eleana Clark to inspire and motivate the students to keep pushing themselves to perform at a higher standard.

Twenty-five King Harold Academy students watched the match with the girls supporting the Mavericks as they had met and been trained by Mavericks and England goal keeper Lindsay Keable earlier in the year.

Ms Clark said: "The game was exciting and our students came away with a better understanding of how the game is played at a higher level and challenging their knowledge of the game.

"This was shown by the large amount of questions they asked about how skilful these professional athletes are."

She added: "The trip was a great way to finish the netball season for our teams and has enthused the students to perform at a higher standard next year within our local league."
