Hello Autumn!

Staying healthy and happy this Autumn.

Hi <<First Name>>,

I hope you’re having a great start to the year and making progress on your intentions and goals for 2016. Autumn marks the beginning of the ‘Yin’ phase of the year. You may have noticed you want to start slowing down. At this time of year, the body conserves energy and turns inward, becoming more introspective and reflective.

Astrologically we've entered ‘eclipse season’. There are two types of eclipses: Solar (sun) and Lunar (moon). In astrological terms, eclipses can really shake things up. You may feel more sensitive and emotional at this time as you’re faced with great changes; changes which are often outside of your control.

  • Solar eclipse in Pisces :: 8 March – the birth of something new.
  • Lunar eclipse in Libra :: 23 March – closure/endings to something in your life.
  • The period in between the eclipses :: i.e. NOW - a potent time for change.
  • Key tools - Surrender and remain grounded to navigate your way through this potentially chaotic time.

In Chinese Medicine, Autumn is associated with the Metal element and the Lung and Large Intestine channels. The energy of Autumn supports us to:

  • Let go of the old, the stale and the stagnant.
  • Grieve the loss of the old; grief cleanses us of what we no longer need.
  • Receive inspiration; be more receptive to ‘take in’ the pure.
  • Key themes – knowing what is of value in life, including self-worth.

Like many people, and right on cue for eclipse season, I’m going through rapid changes myself. Big changes! With a mix of sadness and excitement, I’ll soon farewell my Carlton North clinic. After 3 wonderful years practising in Carlton North, my final day will be Saturday 19 March. The shop where my clinic is located has recently changed ownership. Unfortunately, the new owners changed the clinic conditions and subsequently decided to close all the clinic rooms.

But as they say, one door closes and another opens. After Easter, I’ll be taking on extra days at my Thornbury clinic – a beautiful space which I’ll enjoy being in more often. Yipee!

Need some help letting go this season? Having difficulty reaming grounded and clear? Book your appointment online or call 0423 493 255.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

STAYING HAPPY AND HEALTHY THIS AUTUMN:

Coughs, colds, gastrointestinal complaints and dryness are common at this time of year. Be sure to stay warm and:

  • Eat pungent foods (cinnamon, ginger, garlic, leeks, sweet potato) to support the Lungs.
  • Drink fresh ginger, lemon and honey tea to support your immune system.
  • Eat more soup and less salads to nurture Yin and support digestion.
BYE BYE CARLTON NORTH!
With a mix of sadness and excitement, I’ll farewell my Carlton North clinic on Saturday 19 March. If you’ve visited me here you know what a lovely space it is. After Easter, I'm very pleased to announce I’ll be relocating to my (equally lovely!) Thornbury clinic.
