And He sent two of His disciples and said to them, "Go into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him; Mark 14:13

It is crazy how many "divine appointments" we will have when we begin to tune in to the Holy Spirit. Without regular times with the Lord, honing our spiritual senses, we miss these opportunities. This is one of the incredible tragedies of our lives. The Lord has so many connections for us to make, but we walk right by them. 

I think it is interesting that Jesus tells the disciples to look for this unusual thing as the path to finding a place to have their Passover meal. He could have just said, "go to 123 Broad Street. There is a place upstairs," but instead He instructs them to look for something unusual and follow it. This sign was a man (not a woman, which would have been much more common) carrying a pitcher of water. 

The opportunities for friendships, business, and spiritual life are often found in serendipitous relationships. This story reminds me of meeting our mission host, Shawn Smith, who has become a life-long friend and ministry partner because I saw an Apple Airport connected to a flimsy spliced internet cable in Guatemala. This unusual sighting turned into an open door for ministry partnership. 

Keep your eyes open for unusual sightings from the Lord. You never know who He will lead you to or how you will be blessed by them.
