Drama Festival - The BFG
The Boswells School hosted its annual Drama Festival (Tuesday, March 1) when more than 200 people supported and celebrated the students’ work.
This year, for the first time, the Drama Department presented a full production incorporating students from Year 5 through to Year 10.
Rather than each year group performing a discrete club piece in the festival, all the students worked on selected scenes from the play ‘The BFG.’.
Joint rehearsals took place where students saw each other’s work, as well as working together in certain scenes, to produce an entertaining and full production.
The performers worked really hard on top of their usual day-to-day studies to learn lines, movement and develop characters.
They were supported by staff and student directors from Years 9 and 11 as well as by the Year 10 BTEC Production students who designed the set, props, makeup, lighting and sound.
