Jambo (hello) William Aludo!

Everyone's Child is excited to announce that we have a new Program Coordinator in Kenya!  William Aludo is joining us this March, teaming up with Susan Enoch for a couple of months before he transitions into her position.  Susan is moving on to a new chapter in her life, and while she will be greatly missed, we know that she will carry her aspirations for helping others wherever she goes.

William gained a Master of Arts in Sustainable Development from the School of International Training in Brattleboro, VT.  He also set up his own agricultural NGO to assist people in his village with food insecurity.  William is well versed in the world of NGO's and has a desire to serve orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya.  We are very blessed and happy to have him on board!

Partnership = a new classroom in Kampi Ya Moto

The new classroom at the Lord Ranjuera Primary School in Kampi Ya Moto, Kenya is finished!  8th grade students (called Standard 8 in Kenya) are already enjoying their new space, and parents and staff members are very proud of the new sign painted on the outside wall at the school.  The best part about this is that the Kenyan government provided the funds for the classroom!  I love seeing this partnership between the government, EC, and the parents still happening even 10 years after I first wrote about this collaboration in my dissertation.  The real winners here are the children who get the benefit of a brand new space for learning.  Hurrah!

coming soon...
a new preschool in Lanet Umoja

In my last blog (http://everyoneschild.net/2016/02/) I wrote about the preschool building in Lanet Umoja where the vision for EC  first started in Kenya.  Twenty years later that structure is still there (see below), and in a bad state of repair.  After the building of three primary schools and one secondary school in the Nakuru area it is finally time to turn our attention to the construction of this space for the families in Lanet who rely on having a safe place for their children to learn.  I am very excited to announce that this April, work on the new Lanet Umoja Preschool will begin!  The funds we have raised are a start for this three-classroom project, and this time Holy Cross Prayer Community (the church next door to the preschool) is collaborating with EC to build one of the classrooms!  In order to build two of the three classrooms we need to raise $22,000.00.  If you would like to partner with us to help make this happen, please click here to make a secure donation online, or send your contribution to Everyone's Child, Inc. 20 Vermont Route 100 South, Moretown, VT 05660.
