"Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods."
- Psalm 95:1-3 -
Wadnaika, along with her three brothers, joined the Child Hope family after the 2010 earthquake. Wadnaika was just a small toddler when she joined our home. Now, six years later, she is very smart and carries strong leadership qualities. In her spare time, she loves to color and draw, as she is very inclined artistically. Like many young girls, Wadnaika also likes to be silly and jump rope, and she has a contagious laugh. Please pray that she continues to grow in her gifts of kindness and humility as she continues to walk in God's plans for her.

Wadnaika is currently 36% sponsored to cover her basic needs such as food, clothing, clean drinking water, education, and medical care. Click on the button below to sponsor her and become a part of her story!

Graduate Spotlight: Schneider

Schneider was one of the original twelve boys who was brought into Child Hope’s first boys' home. Only twelve years old at the time, he spent his teen years growing up in the Child Hope family. Despite difficult circumstances, Schneider matured into a kind and loving young man who carries peace wherever he goes.

At the age of eighteen, the children in our homes are legally required to move out and begin life on their own. Because of Schneider’s great example to our younger boys and his gifts in caring for and leading them, we decided to bring him on staff as a live-in caregiver. Schneider continued to grow as a leader in the home, and became a valued employee.

Over the past few years, Schneider has enjoyed his job and family at Child Hope, but has also dreamed of stepping out on his own and further into adulthood. This past January, he was presented with the opportunity to move out with a few other graduates into a place of their own. Shortly after, he was offered an internship at a large woodworking company called Maxima here in Port-au-Prince. Although we miss him around the boys' home, we could not be more proud of the incredible man that he is becoming!

Thank you to each of you who has supported Schneider over the years through your prayers and support. You have played an integral role in allowing him to reach this point, and we thank you!

New Creations: Child Hope Baptisms

This past month, ten of our kids made the decision to be baptized, along with several other young people from the community! Oline, Katrina, Frantzi, Ti-Schi, Ti-Bo, Luckenson, Cindy, Keso, Stanley, and Yvenel each took this step of faith to declare their commitment to Christ in the presence of their families and friends. We followed the baptism with a community meal shared by our children, staff, and friends from the neighborhood. We could not be more proud of these young men and women, and are humbled and honored to walk alongside them in their faith journeys. Check out a few photos below!

Moments Like These

Last week we broke up the 95 children who attend our feeding program into smaller groups, and assigned them each a leader - most of whom are young men who have graduated out of the feeding program. We told the leaders that they were responsible for the children in their groups - to get to know them, be an example to them, encourage them, and pray for them.

A few days later, we found this leader who, unprompted, had taken his group up to the bleachers during game time to do a bible study with them. One of our staff members, Lexie, described, "My favorite moments are these ones where I can step back and watch God work. Where I'm doing nothing and I get to watch love in action in the people around me. When people's gifts are engaged, community is forming...cycles are being broken."
