It’s Workshop Wednesday at the Safe Routes to School National Conference
(Plus a Fab One on Tuesday too!)
You’ve heard of Walking Wednesdays. We’re moving to Workshop Wednesday
at the upcoming 5th Safe Routes to School National Conference in Columbus,
April 5–7.
Get moving at three interactive workshops Wednesday afternoon:
- Blind Walk Audit — Explore the built environment from the perspective of a person with visual and physical impairments.
- Street Scene — Ever wonder how a bike cop views the environment?
Take a ride with Officer Burkitt around the capital city and find out.
- Bike Co-Op Field Trip — Visit Franklinton Cycle Works to learn how they make cycling “fun, affordable and sustainable,” and attend a basic bike mechanics class.
There’s also an interactive workshop on Tuesday afternoon:
- How We Roll — Take an educational bike tour with local bike advocacy group Yay Bikes! Learn how they work with inexperienced riders while checking out some of Cbus’ highlights and our new bicycle infrastructure (protected bike lanes, bike boxes and more).
If you are interested in these workshops, make sure you register for the conference by March 21. After registration closes, we will give all registrants a chance to sign up for these great workshops—although space will be limited!
