From the Principal
Charlie EisenreichOn Wednesday, March 16, I took a few moments to speak with the Junior class about the annual Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) which began March 21. My main focus was to explain the importance of the MCA assessments and how the scores impact Tech High School as well as individual students. I asked our 11th-graders to take the exam serious, get a good night’s sleep each evening, and eat a healthy breakfast. I talked a little about test strategies, making sure each student takes the time they need to respond purposefully to be successful on the exam. Along with other assessment data, MCA results are used to determine what areas to focus on as a school in Math, Reading, and Science, often leading to curricular decisions that impact student learning. I need your help. I ask parents to do what you can to help prepare your child for these important exams. Please encourage your child to do their very best, take the exam seriously, and use as much time as they need to be successful. Juniors will take the Mathematics assessment in their U.S. History classes between March 21-April 7. Sophomores will take the Reading Assessment in their Language Arts 10 classes between April 4-April 28. Sophomores also take the Science Assessment in their Biology classes between April 28-May 6. Best of luck, testers!!
