Amsterdam based artist Danny van Ryswyk works digitally, producing prints and 3D sculptures of moody and contemplative characters, often with dark themes and settings.
Attracted by the mysteries are the dark and unusual, Danny creates a world full of macabre and disturbing imagery that retains a sense of humor about itself. His sculptures are created in a 3D program by Danny and then rendered out in a 3D printer. Danny then finishes and refines each piece and then meticulously hand paints them in a process that can takes weeks, with care taken to make sure his monochrome palette still retains a refinement and depth. He then sources vintage bell jars to house each piece. The final effect gives it the feel of an arcane object found in a mysterious Victorian parlor.
We will be exhibiting 9 sculptures and 14 digital prints, all relecting his enchanting, beautifully macabre aesthetic.
