On Australia Day, EYW held a fundraising sausage sizzle at the Bunnings Warehouse in Caringbah.
After the BBQ, our team decided share the Australia Day spirit by donating sausages and bread to the good people at the Wayside Chapel in Potts Point who do amazing work with the homeless and needy.
Even though our fundraising efforts help keep our programs running, we can never forget that there are opportunities to give back to the community.

Along with the BBQ at Bunnings, we also had a Poetry Recital and Song at Carrs Park for Kogarah Council Australia Day.
Stalls of food and ice slushies, German sausages, Jewellery stalls, Op-Shop Stalls and even a “Potato-on-a-Stick” stall welcomed the Exodus youth at the Australia Day events, and boy where they hungry. They ate as much as they could before being called to the stage.
Paul, who has been a resident musician of EYW for a long time, blew the stage away with his soulful rendition of the Australian Anthem. Anthony delivered to the crowd his moving poetry, and his signature piece “My Friends.” Everyone in the crowd received both performances warmly and had many questions for us off stage, which we all answered gladly.
EYW enjoys working with the community, especially when providing a platform for young people to utilise their talent. If you would like some local talent for your event, whether it be poets, painters or musicians, email Abanoub at abanoub@exodusyouthworx.org.au to enquire.

At EYW we receive quite a lot of donations that people drop off so that it may assist with our fundraising efforts. As much as we really appreciate these donations, we know that a lot of the items could be used to the benefit of others.
So far this year we have donated to:

Having a good relationship with local businesses is very important part of raising awareness of what we are doing with young people in the community.
St George Bank were kind enough to donate some of their office items due to the closure of the Ramsgate office. The employees were more than happy to have us pick up a few items that went very well with our theme colours! The red chairs really brightened up our iWorx room where our trainees have their meetings.

Continuing with the spirit of community, we have had quite a few businesses show their support by purchasing our Worth Water for their stores.
Worth Water is an initiative that started many years ago and has now made its way into the of homes and shops of our members. By purchasing Worth Water you are supporting our iWorx program which educates young people on various life and work skills, giving them the ability to confidently develop personally and professionally.
We would like to thank the many businesses and individuals who see worth in what we aim to do. If you would like more information about our Worth Water or would like to put in an order for your home or business, please feel free to contact Miriam at miriam@exodusyouthworx.org.au

A special mention goes to all those who support us by having our donations in their businesses and homes. A little bit of ‘change’ creates huge changes in young people’s lives. If you would like more information about having our donation jars at your home or business, please feel free to contact Christina at christina@exodusyouthworx.org.au

Victoria’s Exodus Youth Worx (EYW) team was proud to have hosted their first successful fundraising and awareness event last weekend at Albert Park called ‘Picnic In The Wilderness’. The combined efforts and dedication of the team’s volunteers resulted in a joyous day that left everyone pleased. With a fantastic turnout, we were blessed enough to have raised funds towards our young and thriving organisation and service. On behalf of the entire EYW crew, we would like to thank each and every person who attended our event and kindly donated. We truly value all contributions towards the growing future of Exodus Youth Worx Victoria no matter how big or small. We greatly appreciate the time volunteers put in and the prayers and financial support of all involved with EYW.
Having recently started up in Victoria, EYW hopes to reach out to many young individuals that may be in need of a direction. The ways in which we reach out involve actively engaging with youth along with hosting community events and programs that encourage the youth to come together. This allows them the safe and supportive environment needed whilst providing them with the opportunity to openly speak their mind or confide in someone when need arises.
The fundraising event was the first opportunity for the youth volunteers of Victoria to come together and meet each other and share the dream. With a friendly environment, delicious food, a raffle competition and the presence of Christ, the day was the first of many successes to come! A special thanks goes to Chemist Warehouse for volunteering to donate two hampers for the raffle prizes, resulting in our two happy winners (see pictures).
Through Christ and the ongoing prayers and contributions of our community, Exodus Youth Worx is laying the foundations for a blessed future in Victoria. EYW wishes to thank His Grace Bishop Suriel for inviting the service to his diocese and blessings our service in allowing us to serve our young people on the margins of pour community. Through the grace of God our team will strive to provide our services and ongoing support to those who need it.
Exodus Youth Worx aims to provide a Christ presence in the wilderness of this world, the place that could mean the positive difference to the life that one seeks.

At Exodus Youth Worx, through the 13 years we have been serving in NSW we have learnt to trust in the slow work of God. And so it brings us much joy and blessing to see the birth of EYW in Victoria. It is still early days for EYW in Victoria and we are only at the starting line and the last few weeks have seen EYW and the priests and congregations of Victoria come together for a conversation in what EYW looks like in Victoria. Luke 15 speaks of the "lost coin, the lost sheep and the lost son" together as the body of Christ let us ''go therefore" to the margins of our community and walk with those souls that find themselves struggling with what life throws at them and needing the companionship of people to walk with them until the time comes that change is what they choose. It will take a community to walk them home. Let us join our gifts and blessings together and share in the joy of witnessing a son or daughter returning to the embrace of the Father.
We are not called to success but to be faithful in all things.
May God bless all who serve His people.
Stay in touch with EYW through our website, facebook page and other social media outlets.
May God bless your life and your service to Him.
