Invitation to comment on IBPSA-USA Research Committee Report
Earlier this year, the IBPSA-USA Research Committee convened a focus group to identify and discuss trends and shortcomings in the building performance simulation field. Needs identified by the focus group will shape the direction of the Research Committee. Committee member Nathaniel Jones invites you to review and comment on the report of focus group findings, which you can find on the IBPSA-USA website.
We are actively seeking sponsors for two upcoming events:
ASHRAE & IBPSA-USA SimBuild 2016: This conference builds upon the success of the previous ASHRAE and IBPSA-USA joint conference, and will be held in Salt Lake City on August 10-12, 2016. The expected attendance for this conference is 300. Modelers, software developers, owners, and researchers will address current and new practices in energy modeling and building performance simulation using existing simulation tools, state-of-the-art software, and innovative simulation research.
Building Simulation 2017: The International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) will host Building Simulation 2017 in San Francisco, August 7-9, 2017. This is the 15th conference in the series that is the premier gathering of building performance simulation specialists from around the world. IBPSA has a membership of more than 4,000 and convenes a Building Simulation conference every 2 years.
A Good Sign for the Building Energy Modeling Industry
Amir Roth, Ph.D., Technology Manager at the the Building Technologies Office, published this piece last month on the DOE website. He discussed how Trimble’s acquisition of Sefaira is a good sign for the BEM industry as a whole, and why.
