Dear Capitol Chapter Members,

As we wind down for the summer months, I encourage you to attend the Annual Meeting on Monday, May 9th at noon.  We will not meet over the summer.  Instead, there will be a few socials where the chapter will get together during the weekend.  They are always great fun!

Please come join the Capitol Chapter on Friday evening of the State Conference to celebrate Cindy Hays and Cary Thompson for their achievements.  Cindy Hays has been nominated as Organizing Secretary for DC, the first one in the state's history and a position she helped create.  Cary Thompson is receiving the Capitol Chapter Outstanding Junior Award.  Both will be recognized during the awards ceremony at dinner.  Cindy and Cary have logged numerous hours for DC DAR and the Capitol Chapter, and we are very proud of their accomplishments!

APRIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS 
  • Members of the Capitol Chapter will be attending State Conference on Friday evening to celebrate Cindy Hays and Cary Thompson who will be recognized in the ceremony.
  • The Capitol Chapter welcomes our new member, Blair Sutton.  She was sworn in at the meeting on Wednesday, April 13th.  
  • Register to run or walk the Bright Beginnings 5K at West Potomac Park, Washington, DC on April 30th at 8am. Fill out your information and select "Team Peacock".   Register here
  • Sign up as a page at 125th Continental Congress. It will be June 15th - 19th at the DAR building here in DC. Paging Information
